G4 PQ curve is not classified at all. Have stated figures on a number of occasions, even quite early in the game. Here's some data points that have not been done with the correct equipment, but in general what I measure is typically within 10% or so of what others have measured with the good stuff. ~1.9mH2O PD @ 5LPM. ~5.8mH2O @ 8.5LPM, ~7.8mH2O PD @ 10LPM. |

Thanks ;) |
Cathar, what are you idle and max temps running with the iwaki MD30 with the Storm G5. And what speed ur running at. I am curious to compare temps (I know temps arnt comparable for the most part but i will ask anyway). Thanks in advance.

overclock is the only comparabe stat, and I believe his best stable is around 2900mhz |
I know very well that they arnt comparable and I even stated that, but im just curious. I just want to know if my temperatures are in the ballpark (within 5 to 7C) of his temps.
BTW: Thanks for stating his OC greenman. *quickly runs cpu at 10volts to squeeze 100mhz more out of cpu* "Whats that smell....?" |
MaxxxRacer, I'm running an Abit AN7, which may not be of much help to you. No real point in trying to compare anyway. Even using Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0 boards I've seen temperatures vary by up to 10C depending on the board, and then by a further 10C depending on the BIOS loaded.
With the consequential ~20C variations occurring on NF7-S boards, a "5-7C ballpark" is an exercise in futility, even if I had the same type of mobo as you. |
Mother BLEEP... 20C! Well its ok, i just restarted my comp and the temp went from 95F to 105F. How that makes sens is beyond me.... These termal diodes need to die. i wish i had the on die reading of the temp.
Well thanks anyway cathar... If Im in the market for a cpu block whenever I do get one, I will be sure to get yours... Hopefully you are still making blocks then. One Q, when are you going to stop teasing us and show us an inside shot of the storm. I cant wait to see what you came up with. |

as soon as the first batch is shipped, you can bet people will be popping theirs open |

Haha, if he don't try to melt it with a torch, i'm fine :D

I wouldn't dare open mine. I might inadvertantly compromise the block's integrity with my unnecessary poking around and lose 1C or 2C, never to be recovered.

A lot changed in the space of a few hours after writing that post. The whole lot was accounted for in 36hrs. Even if I had the full batch size as requested, I doubt that the lot would have lasted even 60hrs. |

Did you send it to someone how will make a review? Or will that have to wait? |

Want to know what the interier looks like, to see if it can be made cheaper with atleast the same results... (got a phonenumber to an specialist on copperpowder manufacturing that if it can be made I'm giving the number to cathar) |
Appropriate Storm fluids?
Same as anything else?
Same as Cascade? Viscosity sensitivity? (I'm not planning to use glycol but some other folks may). I've never had a problem with algae or other slime - and have always used distilled water (usually with Zerex "Racing Coolant" at 10%). The water's not exposed to light (IMHO the major reason I haven't had algae problems). This'll be an all-copper (or brass) loop so maybe I can skip the corrosion protection package altogether...? Particulate sensitivity? Is off-the-shelf distilled water OK or does it make sense to filter it first - and if so, with what? I don't have access to chemistry lab gear - and I'm unsure as to whether running the water through something like a Melitta coffee filter might make things worse (invisible paper fibers) rather than better. I'm running a Eheim/Innovatek HPPS (for silence) which is essentially a 1046 with slightly-better-than-1048 head - so at the low end of what the Storm was designed for - and I'd prefer to avoid running a filter in-line if I can... |
