thats because almost everyone ove rthere speaks very good english (most are insulted if you assume that they dont) so therefore most of the time dutch translators arent needed as english is used.

i found a couple of translators but none of them seem to be able to make any sense of the most recent df post.

Visited their site, and most info related to procooling is about cooling info and articles posted here. The distributed folding forum has no relevant info so far. Not that I can speak or read any dutch tho.

For the most part they (Dutch Power Cows) are a monster super team with many sub teams participating and almost every conceivable distributed computing project out there. This explains why we are mostly ignored. If all the people in there decided to participate at once in DF the could very easily achieve first place.

Now, about the AnnandTech team intentions, that could be something else.

Not that it helps a whole lot, but here's a translator that will do Dutch to English

It doesn't translate a whole lot, but it does some of it.

Joe 09-24-2003 07:50 AM

WHOOO HOO WE ARE IN 9TH PLACE!!!

Phant0m51 09-24-2003 08:41 AM

Who's yo' DADDAY!?!?!???!!!!

Of course, I'm not helping much because the client here at my work stopped working (checksum problems) and the client at my house is having other problems. I'm going to get them back up and folding 24/7 ASAP. Won't help much compared to you, Joe, but it's all I've got.

Joe 09-24-2003 08:50 AM

EVERY lil bit helps... My machines wont be running next week for part of it possibly (out of town) so we need to get as much power from everyone else so th at we dont start falling back down once that happens.

Joe 09-25-2003 02:32 PM

Getting poised for move up the ranks again... I think we will get to about 6th position then flatten out for a lil bit as we need about 100 mil then to get to #5.

Cossey3 09-25-2003 02:42 PM

well ive managed to get to #36 in the team and get 800,000 points (after everything is uploaded). ive had 2 computers running for ~1week 24/7 (running in background) hopefully should have 2-3 more next week and i sohuld get up to the top 20.:)

Joe 09-25-2003 02:54 PM

Very Nice!! Keep it up!

Joe 09-27-2003 11:41 AM

protien change in a few days I think.

Hmm so the goal was to just beat AMDMB by the end of the protien and in turn we have moved into 9th and working on 8th place overall, and are 130,000,000 over AMDMB now :)

Cossey3 09-28-2003 03:13 PM

next hour we should jump over sun:D

Phant0m51 09-28-2003 09:34 PM

We're officially in 8th now. We kick some major booty.

Joe 09-28-2003 11:20 PM

Sun always was a pussy company ;) hehehehe

Try and pronouce it phonetically... Dutch and Englsh share a common linquistic ancestery. I saw a program on TV that explored that and it just sounded like these farmers had a mouthful of grass but you could understand most of what they were saying even though they spoke some Dutch Language. (much like talking to drunks in a pub at home).

Maybe this is why they speak such good "english"

BTW my internet server is once again folding and although its slow right now it shoudl speed up as it has only been gong for a few hours.

Even though my folding "farm" is more like a battery hen just ready to pop its clogs, I would like to think I make a contribution.

yeah dutch comes from the same ancestor as english and german so it is possible to work out what theyre saying but there are several words and phrases that use a different root therefore you have to try and guess what theyre saying.

Okay, now I have grasp of half... How 'bout that battery hen? Do they lay D-cells instead of eggs, or are they simply more portable than the wall outlet hens? ;)

Boli 09-29-2003 07:09 AM

Well they TASTE like D-Cells (bateries?!?!) anyway.

~ Boli

Cossey3 09-29-2003 07:17 AM

battery hens are ones kept it boxes with tubes to let food in. they take up less space then free range hens coz the boxes are too small fo the hen to move around, so you can get more hens in so more eggs so more money for the farmer.

Groth 09-29-2003 07:44 AM

Ahhhhh....Small Farm Factor. Now I see where Shuttle gets their ideas.

I can't wait for the for the multi-hen blades and rackmount egg-servers.

I'm not buyin' 'em clogs, though.
