Dammit I cannot keep up with the Swiftech product line. Every time I get moderately serious about doing a complete kit test, they replace the pump or the fill method or the wb or the radiator. This looks like a nice little product though.

Oops! I thought that the design was similar enough to your reservoir that the problems would be shared. I don't want you to have to comment too much on other company's products. Usually, that doesn't help and just makes everyone testy. It may be entertaining, though.

In particular, the vent hole was done (I thought) to prevent pressure buildup in the reservoir as you screwed the cap down. If so, it wouldn't help with the problem I was describing. It would help prevent air being trapped in the reservoir portion that is under the cap (not the portion of the reservoir that is both higher and not under the fill cap).

no, the vent was to PRECLUDE the symptoms you described (higher fill = less noise and longer maint period)

the res as mfgd was identical, Swiftech added the vent hole (because we like to be better, lol)

My guess is they're replacing it with a 1/2 inch version of the mcp350, similar to the mods people are doing. Being that its smaller, quieter, has a rpm sensor, and seems to have the same high flow rate as the mcp650 when modded, would make it a better choice.

To be honest ALL versions of the CoolingWorks bay reservoir have been manufactured with the vent since January;)

There used to be a class of motorcycle rider that was like this (possibly an America-only phenomenon). They were uninterested in better handling, power,or comfort, but wanted more chrome and more lights. I don't see many of these bikes on the road any more - maybe they're decorating PCs?
