Other (describe)
All righty then here's the description: 140mm fan with auto high medium lo switch by CoolMax taurus Silent Power 450 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817159024
And I give it the "Okay for Now" rating with a thumbs up for silence :dome: and a thumbs down for wiggly +12V rail :cry: |
I've got a Fortron Aurora that I modded for silence. I moved the bottom mounted 120mm fan to the outside of the psu case....a very easy swap. The extra distance from the PSU's guts reduces fan turbulence and increases airflow. The fan doesn't ramp up at all anymore. I tossed the fan grille as well.

Enermax EG495AX-VE(W) : 1x80mm @ BACK, 1x92mm @ BOTTOM; thermally controlled fans; the fans never ramp out much with my system (A64 3000+ / 6800GT @ 435/1150);
Chieftech 410-212 : 1x120mm @ BOTTOM; thermally controlled fan; LC-B400ATX : 1x80mm @ BACK (changed the fan with a Papst 8412N/2GL); Premier 400ATX : 1x80mm @ BACK; |
My PC P&C 510 Deluxe is quiet, but not quite silent.

Iv got a 120mm on the bottom but Im going H20 due to the noice that that fan makes , 26 dB@12 volt, but that was way to noicy (and the CPUheat aint there), so I opend it up and installed an fancontroll to the rear grill, now runing @ 5 volt and Its still way to noicy... (yeap Im geting extrem)

My PCP&C 425w has one 80mm rear fan & is pretty quiet. Lesser brands have multiple fans
because they use a less efficient design. Thus more heat to remove. |
