This really isn't that bad of a block for a DIY deal. There are a bunch of people running copper cap blocks & other simple water blocks & no one mocks them. The price isn't bad for a nice basic block. I wouldn't be surprised if its better than my Evercool block & I got decent temps before my system died a few days ago (yup still grumbling about that all over the internet :D).

IC procooling members are doing what they do best.....

maybe Fetty was actually on to something? http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/edi...x2005-1_3.html

either he had a helping hand or zalman just took his idea. and who needs flow when the zalman outperforms some random watercooler w/ 120mm fan. :evilaugh:

I wonder if that Zalman 9500 cooler can cool TECs?

It is not designed for such. You have to have a block designed FOR a TEC in able to use a TEC properly. There is no way to easily properly mount a TEC to a block not desined for one. Attached is a picture diagram of a properly designed and built TEC block....

I am getting one of his waterblocks.

They may not have the technical specs of a RBX or anything, but I am willing to give it a chance. I actualy want the block for the look more then performance.
I will be cooling a FX57, which at 90nm doesn't put out a ton of heat anyways. (Comparativly).

If they are still available when I start testing blocks I want to buy one and test it. The guy should consider making it a heat pipe.

Officially starting in September. Unofficially already am.

Moto7451 07-30-2005 11:04 PM

Sounds good. I'd be happy to see this block tested once again.

Etacovda 07-31-2005 02:13 AM

Sounds good, be noted however the results are going to be posted on my own site I am building specifically for liquid cooling reviews. If pH and Joe ever get around to getting this site the way they say they will the results will also go in a thread here. I am not going to officially open the new site untill September after I get moved to my new place and the bench is re-setup there.

Etacovda 08-01-2005 12:21 AM

no worries, I'll pm you when its ready to send off

jaydee 08-01-2005 10:34 PM

I new I seen a variant of this block sometime in the past and I finally found it again.

I'd have to contest... I'm sure there's a better waterblock than THAT somewhere else in the universe. I feel like I just entered "As-Seen-On-TV" land and came back to reality.

Once I read his reply to my post about the "devine" reason for people dying of diseases (linky) I always got a bad taste in my mouth from that dude. Guys definitely a creep.

Pump should be waiting for me at home.
