Re: Problem with DD TDX design

Re: Problem with DD TDX design
I've the polytop version of the TDX and yes, it does suffer the same fate.
I'll probably be handcrafting a replacement piece utilising jet impingement and hard rubber instead. |
Re: Problem with DD TDX design
Hans, do the replacement gaskets still depend on adhesive to keep them in place?

Re: Problem with DD TDX design
I remember the replacement pads having adhesive. I am travelling for work today, but as soon as I return to town, i will recheck to be sure and let you know.
FYI- I haven't replaced the pads yet as i am upgrading my system to an AMD/PCIE based system and purchased a Storm to keep from having any problems as I did with the TDX. I am actually a little disappointed with the base finish on the Storm I received about 2 weeks ago. As soon as I have time, I will post a topic on it with photos. |
Re: Problem with DD TDX design
Thanks Hans, I'd apprecite that. As it is I don't feel comfortable selling my TDX.

Re: Problem with DD TDX design
Hello RedViper. Just got in and checked-Yes it does still use the adhesive. You should be okay selling it after you install the new pads. These are stiff enough that they shouldn't move around once installed. It's good to see people care about not dumping goods with "troubles" on people. I will Ebay mine as soon as I install my new components.

Re: Problem with DD TDX design
Thanks for the info, Hans. I'll contact DD for replacements tomorrow. Yeah, I take trading very seriously. I'm a firm believer in the Golden Rule.
