I guess that is the next step; as Assist is ...no assistance.....

But I have no idea which number reset I need to unset the JVM app.

THE PHINALE (version 1.9.9)

1. Completed - Used both reset switch and Admin GUI

2. Completed - The first few attempts garnered error messages indicating that my bios was pre-historic and required the upgrade progam from the v1 CD which when executed asked for a .hex file for the bios upgrade. Since that animal was nonexistent (as far as I could research) things were not looking good. But with some moral support and a pep talk from Blue68f100, the next day we prevailed!

3. Completed - Text book

4. Completed - Text book upgrade, but the reboot hung. And a subsequent reset and reboot showed the drives configured as a strange JBOD distribution; and the Admin GUI > Disk Utilities > Disk Configuration, said only that the drives needed to be formatted before configuration. The three configuration options were not presented. So I formatted again using Admin GUI but nothing changed. After a couple of debug formats things where still unchanged so I tried the Admin GUI again and lo 'n behold the Drives were equal JBODs and the three options for configuration had appeared in the Disk Utilities. As I told Blue68f100, 'happy'... but go figure??

4a. Upgrade memory to 64mb. Failed (finicky Snap! 2000 v1 ??? Ref Post #4 this thread). Memory checks good in P233mx machine.

So here I am:
Snap! 2000 v1
Software – 3.4.803
Hardware – 1.1.0
SN – 25xxx
Bios – 1.2.180
Memory – 32MB 72 pin EDO
Drives – 2 x 6.4GB WD

AWAITING Larger disks (<137GB of course) TO:

5. "Power down and install new drives as M/S then setback and watch it work."

I have a snap server that just quit on me. It seems to start again when I remove the power cord for 5 minutes. I whould like to know how to open the case and check for loose connections or thermal problems. Can anyone tell me how to open case on Meridian Snap Server model 5325301058 ??

Just remove the single screw from the back. With the leds down slide the top half back about 1/2" the lift off.

Snap 2000 - Upgrade to BIOS Version 1.2.180
 

I am needing the software to get to BIOS 1.2.180 so I can upgrade to version 3.x or 4.x. Please help.

1. Blow settings back to factory defaults.
2. Upgrade the Bios to 1.2.180. This requires a file which I do not possess.
3. Upgrade the OS from Version 1 to Version 2. This requires a file which I do not possess.
4. Upgrade the OS from Version 2 to Version 3.4.803. This requires file, again, which I do not possess.
5. "Power down and install new drives as M/S then setback and watch it work."

Sorry, we can not provide any software that is copyrighted protected. You will need to contact Avertec/Overland for the files.
