Re: M4100 FTP Share
well my 4100 finally came, and i can see the problem with the ftp server portion, is that it only supports active/PORT connections not pasv connections. i belive i may have figured out a way to make it usable behind nat/firewalls.
if you could send me that essay on the ftp server that may help me with some information i may be missing. |
Re: M4100 FTP Share
Not know what you are needing, this site may explain how ftp works. This was passed on to me by another user when I was having problems.
http://slacksite.com/other/ftp.html Passive is not required behind a firewall. Port 21 is still good. You will find that setting up security can cause head achs. But must be correct for connections, mormal and ftp. If you ned to test your connection from the outside world this site may help http://www.g6ftpserver.com/en/ftptest or have a friend test your connection. |
Re: M4100 FTP Share

Re: M4100 FTP Share
If you are going through firewall, they cause problems. Firewalls have gotten so good (tight) they all difficult to work through. I think it's mainly due to timing issues. They seam to work ok in a DMZ.
