welcome cab, nice to see another wood worker.
Does anyone here actually work in the tech/computer industry? as a full time career?

Fixittt 04-07-2002 12:02 AM

I do, I am an onsite service tech. The company I work for offers IT assistance to small companys that cannot house an interIT department.

mkosem 04-07-2002 12:13 AM

Fixittt 04-07-2002 12:28 AM

that is the only one in existance.

that sucker requires over 24 hours of machining! And its not done yet. Even if I was to sell it, I dont think anyone could afford it :)

Brad 04-07-2002 04:05 AM

I'll give ya $5 and a hamburger for it.

I work in the computer industry, just building/fixing computers

gogo 04-07-2002 10:23 AM

I'll trade room and board durring tourist season, that would be $1200 a day assuming a wife and 2 kids:)

I'm a cutomer service coodinator (fancy title for 'what don't I do around here') I set up a small comp business on the side doing some audio editing/cleaning, custom built &/or modded systems, some spread sheet work, etc... I also started to build furniture and am expanding that a bit to design.

:D See you can do something with a Liberal Arts degree besides "would you like frys with that?"

Cabmeister, how do you like DesignCad?

cabmeister 04-07-2002 11:35 AM

gogo: I like DesignCad 2D a whole bunch. The main reason is the learning curve. For what i use it for its ideal .I must say though that the 2000 ver. of AutoCad has a much easier learning curve than previous versions , but :D look at the price differance. If your just starting out in CAD , DesignCad 2D is the way to go IMHO.As you progress up the ladder maybe AutoCad would fit your needs better.Of course its nice to have the 3D capabilitys with the rendering features at hand , but I rarely need that function . OOPS  Brads gonna kick some ass :p . Its getting a little off topic , but its good to share an insite of what you know with others if it can be a help.:D

Fixittt 04-07-2002 10:08 PM

cabmeister 04-07-2002 10:23 PM
