No I've read before about this but didn't have an epox and didn't plan on getting one but mbm can supposedly read the xp doide directly on an epox board.

After screwing around for the better part of an hour with the thermostat in the office trying to reach a case temp of 25c, I had to settle on 26c. I encreased my CPU volts to 2.1 and raised my fsb a little higher to try to match nikhsub1 system spec's. As you can see the temps are real close to each other. I really don't think there is much performance difference between the TC-4 and the Spir@l. I am leaning towards the TC-4 for looks though.

I like the info here, but ya'll need to post your flow rates!!! Before, and after, preferably...
|
Man, that TC-4 is sweet looking...I so cannot make up my mind between the TC-4, Spir@l, and MAZE 3.....

I use the 1048, DodgeViper uses the 1250, we have the same mobo that reads the on die sensor in the CPU so it is accurate. We virtually have the same temps! I know my flow is really good, I a pretty small lift:

This is the photo before I made the change from Gemini block to a TC-4 block. Also pictured is 1/2" silicon tubing that now has been replaced with 3/8" tubing. With the pump in this location I have about a 8" rise, but at the same time I have the fans cooling the pump. All the PCI slot plugs have been remove to wisk the air out from the case. The MOBO in the photo is of a AK31.

I read a post by BillA somewhere (o/cers or ocau forums I think) that said that for a given volumetric flow rate all of the maze/spiral type blocks perform about the same in his testing. I suspect any differences in performance you observe are based more upon changes in volumetric flow rates than on any real design differences in the block. In other words, you might get the same improvement of temps if you removed that 90degree barb from your pump's intake as you would by switching blocks.
|
Oops I should clarify anyway:
The TC-4 is obviously NOT a labyrinth type block, and is really in a class of its own I think with the turbulators. I have no comments about this block as I don't own one. |

wb roundup 2
sure would be nice to see this in with the maze2, 3, the gemini blocks, the swiftys, and the tc-4 for WATERBLOCK ROUNDUP 2.
Im not complaining, and I understand its hard and requires alot fo work. It would jsut be nice. |

Made a few changes. Took some advise from others who said that my flow was being restricted due to the 90 degree elbow used on my inlet on the pump. I replace the elbow with a straight barb and replace the tubing with Tygon 1/8" thick tubing. Did the replace of the elbow help my CPU temps? No. Was there an increase in flow? Yes.

From my own stash. 2 modified swifties for flow 1 maze3 1 maze2 1 of my own blocks. I will have also 1 of these: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=3873 1 of these: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=3929 1 #rotor block. 1 of the new spir@l's ( not gemini, borrowed from fragenstien ) I will be requesting blocks from a few others. Becooling no reply yet. About the only ones that probalby wont make it are the aussy and oz blocks. I will ask but will probably not get one. I will try to get one of jessfm's blocks from the uk. If anyone would like to be in it lewt me know. Testing starting next week with individual block writeups to be posted. When I get all that I can I will post a final write up. Any interested in getting stuff tested email or pm me. bah@webmedic.net |
When are you planning that roundup, I would also send on of my blocks, but I only have prototype and I don't wanna go through making one more on my current machine. But I'm getting new mill (will modify it to cnc) than I can start making them, so by the end of Avgust you could have on of my blocks.

I was planning on starting it shortly. I will be recieving a few blocks over the next few weeks. I will test each block individually and then give a roundup at the end comapring results, writing my conclusion and showing some goodies like overclockability. After the testing of each block I wil do a writup of just that block. By doing it this way I can get quite a few into the mix and stretch it out over a longer period of time. I will be adding a silverprop cyclone5, and a surge into the mix. There may be more to add shortly. Also doing it this way won't block me up into a small little period to do all the reviews in.
Also I saw that you posted something about your video card waterblock but I can't get to the overclockers.com.au right now. Pm me the info please. |
Webmedic, I don't remeber answer anymore, something about the price that I was also thinking in that area, and something else I don't remember.
Anyway what happened to overclockers.com.au. everything is down like they were hacked. |
not sure but overclockers.co.nz is down too. also gemini makes ther kit with ram sinks and all for 60$.
|
Sorry I didn't post temps earlier, but as soon as I got it hooked up I had to leave on business. Anyway here are my temps.
CPU: 35°c idle, 40°c load System: 26°c Ambient: 22°c This is on a non overclocked (do to sucky kingmax PC2700) XP 1900+. As soon as I get some good Samsung I'll post some overclocked temps. |
not to cut and paste but i did.
ambient= 27-28 water= 29-30.1 idle cpu dd5 = 37 idle cpu mbm = 38 load cpu dd5 = 41 load cpu mbm = 43 rear case exhaust air = 29.5 I stressed cpu by running Sandra Burn-in for 1hr while running Prime 95. :D |
Ok sorry to ask this, but the tubing you guys are using are 1/2" ID or OD? I just bought some 1/2" OD, 3/8" ID tubing and I think i've got the wrong size :(
I ordered a 1/2" fitting Spir@l |
