I have the Pondmaster version(with the 18 foot cord), 500 gph, the exact same monitor, Viewsonic A90 and have not had any problems of this type. I have placed my pump on my desk next to the monitor, no distortion. I have had the pump inside my case for nearly 3 months and have not had any side affects.
I would check for other types of EMI, although it is possible that I just got lucky. |
Just for anyone that might have the same problem I did, here's how it was fixed. I basically did like resago did, and put a U shaped cover of galvanized steel sheetmetal over the pump. You need to use a magnetically permeable material like steel, otherwise it doesn't bend the field back to the magnet. Make sure you put some padding between the pump and the cover, otherwise it rattles like hell. But it really cut down on the field, and now I can run my monitor at 1280x1024@85hz with extremly low amounts of distortion(you can't see it unless you put your eye to the monitor glass). Thank you guys very much for the help.
