TEC links

I can add some too for your pleasure of knowledge gathering :D

Here a link to Vr-Zone Forums thread where I posted some useful links on TECs

Thanks, I've added these to the WBTA Web Links, here.

On the original topic, one of the major issues with a non-flat coldplate has got to be mounting it, any proposals on how to solve that?

Lap it, get it lapped, or buy a new one. I thought the original question turned out to have more to do with plate geometry and heat spreading than flattness.

That's what I was talking about. If the plate geometry is as optimal as possible, that tends to imply a much more difficult mounting solution than just a flat piece of copper...

Of course I could be wrong as no one has actually proposed any alternative...

No matter what the geometry mating the block to the core it is hard to imagine an instance which does not allow clamping the TEC as the area around it must just be extended enough to allow screw holes. Can you be more specific as to the instance of the problem and the geometry you are using? All that needs to be thought about is having enough material thickness on the cold side to spread the heat from the die area to the area of the TEC.
