ROFL You are so right. I have always preferred to have maximum control over my machine. Windows makes me feel like I'm in a bird cage sometimes. Sometimes that bird cage seems to have bars small enough that I cant get out, but big enough that a big, nasty paw can maul me. -Ice- *a retired XP pro user* |
dos 2k2 would be better than win xp. I have the control

Wow am I the only one that liked XP?
Compared to 2000 its been great since RC2 on my Athlon. What I liked: Sound worked correctly with Vortex 2 (Windows 2000 wouldn't at all, I had to use a POS SB Live). Boot time halved. Included NIC drivers actually worked (no fishing for drivers like 2000). ID3 support in explorer (yes I actually like ID3). Noticable improvement in games (Max Paine comes to mind) over 2000. Actually XP was the first MS OS I've used that "just worked" without hours of playing with it and getting new drivers. Once I killed Luna its the best of 98 and 2000 (IMHO). |
