Cyco-Dude:
Thanks for the linkage. I think i'll get one 12" UV CC that has already been modded; the 4" are almost the same price. Where would be the best place to mount these things? |
that depends on your case. in a typical ATX case, you should be able to mount a 12 inch CC vertically, either along the front or rear inside of the case. mounting the light vertically will cast an even amount of light on the MoBo and expansion cards. if you mounted the light horizonatally along the bottom or top (maybe on the support bar...if your case has one), the light will stop at the AGP card (thus creating a shadow or unlight area under or above the card).
so if you only use one light, mount it vertically. if you use 2 lights, you will want them mounted horizontally with one along the bottom, and one along the top (if you mount them vertically, it'll look like crap since they will kinda 'wash out' in the middle of the MoBo, but if they are mounted horizontally, the bottom part of the MoBo will be one color, while the top will be the other color (if you are using a dual-color setup anyway...theres no point in using two 12 inch CCs of the same color, as one is MORE than enuff to compleatly light up the interior of a case)). |
The case i'm planning on using this type of setup with is a Lian Li PC65. I suppose the best way is to actually have the CC UV and try it all different ways.
My color matching ability isn't all that great; would anyone have some suggestions on what other (if any) colors would look good with a blue theme (pretty sure i'll make the hose blue). |
blue and red look pretty good together...
but keep in mind if you do use regular CCs, the glowing effect from the blacklights will be diminished a bit... |
what if i just use these (last 12" UV in purple text).
blue water and red rounded cables? vice-versa? |
lol, its your comp, you decide :p
|
hehe, i'm just making sure i get the right parts that will give enough light. dont wanna end up with too much (wasted/spare part) or too little (buy again & shipping will be more than if i got 2) and having parts that don't show up though the window
