lmao... wtf.. ok i guess ill give you that one =)

hey it was just a thought that crossed my mind :p

there are people who succesfully cool their cpu down with only a 100L reservoir, just search the web I'm not in the modd for it right now

gmat 06-14-2002 03:21 PM

Hehe i dont even imagine hauling a 100L res to a LAN party :) And i still cant imagine a 100L res sitting in my cramped apartment  (unless its one of those Vortex thingies)

thats were my radiator in reservoir thought comes into the picture :)

then just use quick-connects, and hook up your rig to the 100L tank directly. Use a valve to switch from "internal rad" to "external source of cooling".

gmat 06-14-2002 03:42 PM

I'm looking into "internal" passive cooling... that way no valve no hulkean tank no fan no noise no hassle.
"internal" is an abuse of course, all passive cooling elements are to be placed "outside". I'm still running sketches in pro/engineer but once i'll get something in shape i'll post it.

reverse thread jack (even though i helped jack it)

ok so back to the cooling plate thing... i just bought one... i have a feeling the fittings are also 1/4" which sucks... but i bought it mainly cause i want to see how they are designed and make my own custom.

gmat 06-14-2002 04:55 PM

Mmhhh 1/4" sucks indeed. Too bad, this looked quite good at first glance. The same thing with 1/2" would rock (and a whole bunch of profiled sinks attached to it hehe)
Still i like the flat surface it's ready to get modded

I think this thing could be a great base for passive cooling. I imagine it's built like HD waterblocks, with a M or U shaped channel.
It's flat, so attaching heatsinks all over it should be easy. Should be placed outside the case and horizontally i suppose.

I have gas forced heat. I don't have radiators their not efficient enough. My heat is forced with fans:dome:
