A spray paint in small can form designed for metal such as rustoleum. I'm not sure if a small soldering iron would work, it depends on how much patience you have:)

I doubt that the iron would work, but you can always seal the shroud to the core with silicone. All you have to do is build a shroud with a slight overhang, to give room for the silicone.
