that is what i was planning on using it for. for sheet metal all you need to do is go to home depot or some home improvment store, and by some aluminum Flashing that you use when building a house. its much cheaper to do. i still need a pump though

Sorry, tubing I have is less than-> 3/4" OD, 5/8 ID
|
Haha, Joe...i'm with you on this one.

Hmmm, all I can offer is to make a flow indicator like in my avatar if someone is interested. Dunno how much the shipping from Croatia would cost, but think it won't be much.
If someone is willing to buy and send me some clearflex 1/2 id tubing, I will pay for tubing and for the shipping, just not to have to bother with credit cards or wire transfer (here, it's a PITA). Sad thing is that I cannot sign up for paypal, so I'm gonna send the cash via airmail to cover all the expense. |
Hey who was looking for a heatercore? I have one...Came out of a Datsun mini-pickup. It has some corrosion on the fins and needs a good scrubbing, but other than that its fine (no leaks). PM your info, gimme shipping, and i send it.

is the flow indicator able to be attached to the computer to be connected to the computer and read out on a digital display. plees say yes because if it does i got when awesome plan!! hehehe

:( , Saton, sad, but no. Not yet. I didn't have the time to mess with another revision of it, but I have a few ideas I'll try (hopefully) this month...Need more time...and some thick lexan (still cannot find it here:mad: )

Thx bb2k! I looked occasionally on the web for appropriate schematics, but this is what I'm thinking now:
Rip the 50 mm fan off, take out the magnet from the impeller, and glue a piece of that very strong magnet from HDD (magnet for actuator arm) inside on one place, and balance the impeller (although, in the water, it wouldn't matter a lot, gonna put a small piece of that magnet inside the impeller). Gonna try to use the hall effect device (embedded in fan electronics) to pick up the change of magnetic field from the impeller through the 2 mm thick plastic or plexy back side of the flow indicator. Fan electronics gonna be outside on the back of the indicator. Also, gonna try to shield the stator coils somehow. Thinking of just plugging the assembly into the mobo connector, and try to read the rpm with MBM, and enable shutdown in it. If the hall device is not able to read slow rpm's, is it worth it to glue say 4 little magnets on every 90 deg. inside the impeller, to gain 4 times the impulse? Dunno, think I'm gonna try that when I find some more free time...:p Cheers! /edit: sorry ppl for OT, I just got carried away:D |
PIF ? ? WTF ?
Puzzde,
Size of the polycarb (Lexan) needed for your project? I may be able to help you if 1/2" would be of help. I'm going to be cutting out some block tops for another member here this coming week, can cut yours as well at the same time if 1/2" is of use to you. Only charge is that you post pics and performace data here on these boards. ;) PIF ? ? WTF ? ? I've sent help to others when I could/can just to help them so long as they are sharing data & pics from their projects with all here. Hell that is what I thought this board was all about, to help each other learn, and progress is sped along by further helping each other. Worth the cost of a bit of polycarb, to me, just to see some of the outcomes of differant peoples ideas. Never saw this thread before although I see it is a pretty old one. Edit : If 1/2" polycarb isn't of use, what size do you need? |
Oh man... I wanted some 1/2" polycarb, but I didn't want to pay $17 USD for a 12" by 12" sheet (McMaster), so I ordered 2 of their sample sheets of 1/4" by 6" by 6" ($1.99 ea.), which I plan to glue together, possibly using IPS Weld-on #4.
Maybe I can include a couple of those in my next order Puzzdre, but I don't know when that'll be :( |
Thx guys, you're very kind!:)
I'm having problems here finding polycarb in any thickness. I can find plexy up to 8 mm thick, but nothing more. Blackeagle, 1/2 would be great for the block tops, and if it's possible, I need two pieces of 50 x 80 mm and two pcs 60 x 70 mm (two cpu block tops, and two chipset block tops). I have no experience working with lexan, so the probability that I'll mess up something is great, though I need two pieces for each block. I'll pay for everything needed, and a drink aside;) , if we can make this happen. And the pieces don't need to be cutted to size, save yourself from extra work. Pls, if any of this is possible, check the sh+h to Croatia and let me know. Big thanx! Bb2k, if you happen to place the order (no matter when), pls let me know, I'm interested. Big thanx, again, and to both of you:) PS, I really hate it, I can see every day on the national TV pieces of scenery made of approx 1'' lexan, so somebody here GOTTA have it, but I just cannot find who. GRRRR... Thx guys! Cheers! |
