nick, that is a sex sexy setup, are your tubes UV reactant?? if so send me about 5 m of it (or point me to where u bought it):D :D :D |

here is my work in progress.
i still have to paint the top and as you can see from the tennis ball supporting the res i have been experimenting and this was the perfect height. in the front is a heater core from a vauxhall nova very simular to the chevy ones. the tube is 1/2 silicon and fits very snug on the barbs no need for clips. this is currently running with a cascade style block i made. p4 2.53 @ 3.23 http://homepage.ntlworld.com/lee_smith/case1.jpghttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/lee_smith/case2.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/lee_smith/case3.jpg |
Here's my third atempt at water cooling. Case is an Antec 830 equal (20.5 " tall) that I painted with Auto Enamel. Chevette heater core, Maze 3 all copper, a NB Block as well and 1/2" Clearflex tubing.
Temps at 80F ambient are 35c light loads 43c under very heavy load 3dmarks looping for example. (Vcore is @ 2.0) Running a 2100 219 x 10.5 on a NF7 2.0. There is a 120 mm Enermax adjustable fan on the core (at lowest possible RPM setting) two 80 mm fans (NMB MDL#3110) blowing down through the base of the case. (At 12V) I have a 7/12 switch to adjust the two 80's so I can lessen the noise come winter (not that it is loud @12v). In front of the HD cage is a L1A Panaflo and (2) L1A's blowing out back. This rig is nice and quiet and my first water cool that consumes NO FLUID! This time around I switched from Tygon to Clearflex 60 and used a Hydor L30 instead of an Eheim 1250. No other significant changes so either Tygon leaks or absorbs fluid or Eheims leak very slowly. Or both? I find the Hydor L30 a much nicer pump to work with, the smaller size is a great benefit and it is as quiet as need be. My new baby
Just finished setting this up last weekend. Heatercore is sidemounted, fresh air is blown into the case and the heatercore sucks some of that air out without adding extra heat to the case. I messed up the panels something fierce cutting the 120mm openings, should have cut from the other side and covered them with tape or something. Getting a rheobus to quiet the fans down a bit. Currently a 2500xp Barton @ 1.875v 200x12 2400mhz. I can do 2500 at 1.95v, but it locks up as soon as I put a load on it, not sure exactly what the culprit is right now, and sometimes the Bios likes to default to 100mhz. Guess I still have some work to do.
Cheers. Watercooling Pictures |
whoa, your air trap looks like the blob is in there :)
|
lol. Heh, it certainly does. It's just the water being pushed up and fountaining forming bubbles at the edges of it. The bubbles in the airtrap also do a little dance up and down and side to side while it's running, but they never get sucked in. Bled the system in about 2-3 hours without shaking the heatercore or anything. Next time I refill the system I'll have to make a drainplug at the point where the pump draws from the trap so I can just empty the entire system without having to jiggle it all around.

Cases are for weenies! :)
Cases are for weenies :) /jk I just haven't gotten around to building the case itself..too busy with wc'ing and building phase change setups that explode!!!

wow, nice setup. Yes, i'm too wimpy to do something like that as i always have bottled water laying around my desk.
|
My first watercooling set up, finally working!
I worked really hard on the case. The otherside of the heatercore has 2 120mm panaflo L1As on it. http://timcluff.home.mindspring.com/wc1.jpg |
Well i found this topic for showing off our water cooled systems. Here are some of my pictures of it.
http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/procesor.jpg The processor block with microchanels http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/microch.jpg Here is the picture, where you can probably see the microchanels. http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/northbridge.jpg A picture of northbridge waterblock http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/southbridge.jpg A pic of southbridge waterblock (yep... i'm cooling that too :) ) Thank Epox that they decidet to make holes around southbridge for 8rda+ http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/radiator.jpg An excelent radiator made of copper i found in some car (Lada :) ) http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/sistem.jpg The whole water cooling part. http://freeweb.siol.net/mcekon/voda/celota.jpg And final... the pic of the whole system. The case i have everything in is just temporary. I'm already working on a new custom made huge big tower (70cm x 25 cm x 50 cm) to make it look even better. Any comments? |
waaaa enyin get a case before you accidently do a belly flop onto your hardware!!
|
got case?
haha, you're right siavash_s_s, bellyflop would definitely do some damage - and I always have to tell people not to stick their fingers in the fans omg!!
Actually I like Zhentar's (no)case quite a bit :) Nocases unite and throw off the chains of casedom! EMI = Eat More Icecream |
Jackal, that radiator is just sick! It looks like a gigantic thermalright heatsink or something :D

I promised mine AGES ago... but now I finally have access to a digi camera:
(If someone want to shove these into one post you are welcome to it :D) Externally... very plain but I like it . |

Now I have cleand it it up it looks very spartan. Behind this nest of fans is two black ice micro (with 4x80mm) and they cool things very nicely indeed... Quite chuffed with them actually... even though i haven't actually SEEN them in months.
NOTE: The fan grill without a fan is to aide ventilation... ok ok I had a spare grill and edging lieing around and I was bored... looks better though :) |

And finally the airtrap/res thing. Since there is a thread elsewhere about the perfect airtrap I edited this picy to show what it is clearer.
The entire systems clears up in a few minuites ... that is including the mass of tiny bubbles the pump creates when I'm filling it. And there you are.. finito. |
Very nice rig! I like that case, which one is it?
|
Erm... if you are talking to me then thanks :D
And see my (finally got round to doing one) sig. |
i need parts, tools and labour -
anyone up to flying over and making my case better (involves making wc setup and overclocking too) :dome: |

But that's just stage 1 testing... notice no ram or power hooked up. After the res died (alcohol cracked the plexi top/bottom) I had to rip everything back apart. Delayed for another month or so until I get some more money or break down and use my CC to buy some stuff for it. |

it looks like the one i have and keep thinking how much room there is at the front for water cooling stuff. |
You hit the nail on the head. it's a hudson (SC5000) chassis all right. things are a bit cramped w\ that heatercore b/c its too wide for the top drive bays, and it's also pretty tall with the shroud. if i had an HC that only took a single 120 instead of 2, there would be lots more breathing room, but as it stands in my testing it cools like a champ... but testing = suckage due to breakdown and corrosion problems b/c im dumb ;) water idles 2*C of ambient w\ fans on low.
