Screw water and cooling. for pratical reasons lets just keep our computers off all the time. that way we can take off the HSF or Block and look at all that is Intel or AMD. Anyone else support this idea? We can do this until someone properly informs us on when we can turn them back on and what to do about heat. you know us uninformed peoples are about brain dead as a blade of grass. when will we relize that bill is an omnipotent being and his words should not only be listened to but also taken into serious consideration.

Or just tell them to limit themselves to 30W non TEC applications ?

Because it WAS perfectly OBVIOUS.
Except of course to sales people for 4in stacked plate oil coolers.
Or to those unable to objectively evaluate products made or sold by their friends.

A "technical" site is only as good as the accuracy of the technical advice proffered.

Let´s just say this. I´ve borrowed two of those 4inch radiators and they kick ass!! They can easily handle 150W heatload.

I also got an 11x5-1/2 nich version of the same type and it kept my water at a maximum of 2c above ambient temp with 170W heatload (120W tec @ 14.7V and Celeron 667@1050, 2.0V) using dual Sunon 84CFM 120mm fans.

These stacked plate radiators ARE extremely good and any who says they´re not simply haven´t tried them in a computer watercooler or isn´t satisfied with the performance that can be had using radiators.

My first post on this board ... might as well jump into the fray, eh?

Frankly I don't see what Bill said to get everybody's panties in a wad. It looks to me like he's saying, "why not actually *test*, and *compare* these units before you endorse them. And if you choose not to, don't get bent out of shape when someone calls you on it." Wow, that is a radical thought. I can tell you as someone relatively new to water cooling that the paucity of reliable information is damned frustrating. I mean, I'm looking at the DD cooling cube, and then I see the Aquacoil cube, and I say to myself, "self, surely one of these tech sites has compared these two extreemely similar products to see which performs better." But this is not the case, and as Bill points out, there are almost no worthwhile, head-to-head tests of other radiators. You want to read 100 comparisons of the same goddamned heatsinks, you're in luck, but if you're into water cooling you get very little help. And it's not just restricted to radiators. There are few decent comparisons of water blocks or pumps, either.

So, while I always greet comments such as, "my BIG MOMMA rocks!!!" with gentle applause, it would be nice have some confirmation.

This topic died and was buried 5 months ago. No need to revive it.

Didn't mean to open old wounds, but Erik's post brought the topic to the top of the list.
