Solder is the best and JB Weld is second in my opinion. I have done both and I highly doubt the JB Weld is going to fail.

Yes you can get one of those soldering/brazing torch kits at wal-mart I think... or homedepot/lowes

JB is DAMN tough stuff, not as strong as a silver solder/braze bond, but close... just takes a good while to fully cure
