This would be bad because the water would have an upper and a lower level if you get to deep. being the water comes in and goes out through the top you would have a lower level of water not moving and the upper level of water going over the top of it. Kinda like the ocean in a since. That lower level of water would just sit there untill it got hot enough to force it's way up which would just create more heat.

That's all I can come up with. It maybe total BS, but that is how I visulize it.

Maybe worth a try.

I also ran a Al block for 3 months strait with tap water out of the faucet with a Copper tubed tranny cooler and had no problem with corossion. The water did turn a little gloomy though but the block was nearly as clean as it went in. You also have to remeber these are sealed systems so growth shouldn't happen as fast as open system(I think).

Once I ever get more time(probably next winter :( ) I will start out with a thicker base and work my way down. I have been using a 1/8" base mainly which seems to work good.

but remember that normally the channels aren't big enough volume wise to match a 1/2" barb, if you had the exact same cross sectional volume in the channels as the barb, then you would have few dead spots.

Or something like that....

It is worth a try in any event. I won't do it, don't have the material or the time:( , but I am sure someone else maybe able to.

Ok playing is solid works I came up with this. Inlet in the center over a pin sticking out (most heat transfer there) and outlet on a side somewhere, still not that good as to show it.
