Sorry to hear that m8! State-side, 1/2" (12.7 mm) is standard, and (I always believe) 3/4" (19 mm) is common. There are other sizes, but I don't remember seeing them on a store shelf.

I've never seen PTFE tape wider than 10mm either, in the UK. perhaps it depends where you shop?, Trade~supply I mean...

The test is going to have to be tonight. The radiator uses special fittings, and there is only one place in the palouse that carries them. I had a parts store tell me last night they would order them ... for $10 a piece. Pretty penny for frickin' hose barbs! I should get them at lunch for about a buck a piece.
