Sealed and tested for leaks. I'll prolly install them in next week or two:cool:

Nice work!

But how do you flame polish them? torch?

Iv´e buildt myself a block now, and i wanna get rid of the white areas :)

-P-

Puzzdre 06-06-2003 03:48 AM

@Pritorian: this is exactly the torch I used:

http://www.familydefense.com/pencil_torch.htm

The flame is thin enough, just sand the edges to the max grit you can find (600 is max I managed to find) and light the torch, use it like brush on the edges. It's not the ultimate clearness and flatness, but it works great for us hobbysts...

@g.l.: LOL, nice feeling that itchy fingers:D
Hope you'll find the things you need locally.
LOL, how many HP has that bike?:p
Keep on, m8!

@Balinju: I just love japanese cars, especially Honda's, but that things are not (yet) available in the depths of my wallet:cool:

Cheers!

Pritorian 06-06-2003 04:56 PM

Thanks, i´ll try that on my blocks too..
But first i´ll have too get a torch ;)

Back too the autoprats store we go, lol....

heheh, da puzz fell for it, well, here is my multi multi HP bike. its a do it all monster that takes me to the most remote regions of europe, so to speak, to boldly go ...

bigben2k 06-07-2003 09:49 AM

OooooH! Brake disk!

JCYC5 06-07-2003 10:45 AM

I managed to buy a 300X300X12mm block of acrylic thats high q for $10HKD... $1.18ish USD.

Puzzdre 06-07-2003 04:28 PM

Pritorian, don't forget to buy the gas too;)

Hehe, the brake disk is first thing that I looked at too:p . It's a really nice bike, m8. Just watch out not to burn the exhaust too much riding it:D

MDM, I agree, they are LOTS of fun. This is the first time I got to drive something that has more than 100 HP, and weigh less than a ton:cool:

JCYC5, that's cheap! The point is that you actually managed to find the piece locally (or order or....)

Hope you'll use it well, and show us the pics;)

JCYC5 06-07-2003 07:27 PM

Well all I need now is a block of copper...

t00lb0x 06-07-2003 07:28 PM

I found copper down at a hardware store. Just blocks of it, try there.

Blackeagle 06-08-2003 12:32 AM

Not only does it have disk brakes it also has a real suspension. Mono shock in the rear and dual spring loaded (I think) in the front end. One heck of a fine bike.

How many gears does it have? 10, 12, 15, 18, 21 ???????? Very nice indeed.:D

There are no good hardware store over here though...

t00lb0x 06-08-2003 01:47 AM

Oh what about that huge computer mall. They should/must sell copper.

JCYC5 06-08-2003 02:16 AM

actually...nope...

you're a 3gm forum member right?

Puzzdre 06-08-2003 04:53 AM

JCYC5, see if you can find someone who works for electric power company, they use solid copper bars for transformer buses, maybe you could find used one. Another place to look for is (if there are any) machine shops there, ask for scrap pieces if they work with copper.

Cheers!

And the retired one, sob, sob:p

Puzzdre 08-12-2003 07:03 AM

Still got to paint the sides and the top (this front mask of the case was beige, now it's dark blue).

The results...Hmmm....Not so satisfied with the multi V block. I've got higher overclock, but think that's mainly thx to nb block, now I'm runnin my 1700 JIUHB on 12.5x196 stabile. It won't do 200, prolly cos the mobo is rev. A3. The temps are not lower compared to the retired block, they are 41 C idle, 47 C load, and I just don't like 'em being above 40:shrug:
With the old block, I was running 12x193 stable, it wouldn't let me crank the multiplier to 12.5

Mobo is 8RDA+, RAM 2x256 Kingmax 3200, AMD tbredB 1700+

It'll have to do till I got some time to make another #Rotor style block, now with brand new lexan goodness, thx to BlackEagle:cool:

Does anybody have experience with the later revisions of the 8RDA+, do they really go higher stable? Is it worth it to change the mobo for a later rev?

Thx!

Da_BoKa 08-12-2003 07:39 AM

i bought an other rad and case, i alsow made an homemade plexi reservoir

so i'm working on it right now,
ppff i hope it will be ready very soon

@ g.l. i asked and they can get thicker but you have to order it, the thickest they have in stock is 5 mm

btw i my cannondale is much better :p

greetz

Jackal 08-12-2003 08:00 AM

Good job Puzzdre.

My only concern is: Isn't the cpu block very flow-limiting?
How thick is the layer of copper between the bottom of the channels and the bottom of the block?
My experiences say that for amd processors is better to have very thin layer of copper between the CPU and water.
I like your chipset block. Very nice.
What are you cooling your southbridge with? I have 8rda+ also, and my southbridge was going like 60°C measured with temperature probe and i had some problems with sound at that point.

Keep up the nice work :)
