no more info until the pump's release, sorry
other vendors to be considered

Groth 08-20-2004 07:30 PM

Damn, that's some impressive flow rates! Maybe change the name to MCP21000? :p

HammerSandwich 08-20-2004 10:53 PM

Groth, did you read "GPH" instead of "LPH"?

Edited: Asleep when I posted...

BillA 08-20-2004 10:54 PM

That is kind of strange. From looking at the pump curves, that implies a pressure drop in the system of around 8-10 feet which seems high.

have to say that this pump is extraordinary for its size and output
but not cheap, nor dead quiet
What do you mean by not dead quiet?

Alright so here's a new graph with the 12V info that Bill provided. It also has an interpetation of Bill's test system, it has a 3 gph drop from MCP650 to MCP350.

Look on HardOCP front page, I think it clears ANY doubts about what kind of pump Apple is using.

quicksilverXP 08-27-2004 01:58 PM

wow..... a pump that small with flow rates like that. Delphi must've invested quite some time and money into this little pump, especially since it's going as a stock cooling system into an Apple.

JFettig 08-27-2004 02:40 PM

I looked all over this thread and the website for the pump, then finally decided to mess with the urls and found it
http://www.lainginc.com/DDC_Series.htm

Looks really impressive, I bet the price wont be;)

Roscal 08-27-2004 02:45 PM

Public price is 85-87€

WOW

D4 for $75 or DDC for $105, I think I'll take the D4. It must be so expensive because it's associated with Apple. :D

Roscal 08-27-2004 04:16 PM

Public price isn't reseller price and with large quantity this pump will be cheaper...

I was told "tu de connes" might be appropriate
I am aware of no Laing website presently listing the pump or its price

got a link ?
or just a wink ?

Roscal 08-27-2004 04:22 PM

It's an Email from my contacts from Laing (Germany)

BillA 08-27-2004 04:35 PM

ok
"not yet availiable" sound appropriate ?

then, anticipated price . . . .

How's the "not yet availiable" status for this pump Bill?
Any indication?

BillA 09-14-2004 07:18 PM

still the same

ralf_c 09-15-2004 06:17 PM

seems like an ideal pump for a silent loop, how quiet is it compared to the ehiem 1048?

dima y 10-05-2004 08:01 PM

Ok someone has to pick up the ball with this one and run to the endzone. There has to be something that can be done to bring this to the market.

Yea, I'm about to build a 3/8" system and this seems like _the one_.

Well, as long as it is quieter than the MCP650.

Turbokeu 10-27-2004 09:22 AM

DDC page on Laing's website is online again...

CD :)

Jag 10-27-2004 10:00 AM

Does this mean, that Swiftech is going to announce the availability of this pump to the public?
Bill, any forecast on this?

It's nice to deal with Mr. Laing directly I guess :)

Elmmx5 10-28-2004 09:25 AM

What an incredibly useful and relevant article that looks like, I just wish I could read it. :(

referring to whom ? (not Roscal for he has not)
Oliver Laing is a terribly competent Germain engineer who knows his products, competition, and applications
every meeting is informative and Laing (the company) is responsive to our inputs; difficult to imagine a better supplier
