Schoolie,
I want to take the time to personally thank you for sending the z4 to Jay. With the block in hand he was able to de-funk all the myths and BS surounding that crappy product. And I do hope that he was able to keep people from being disapointed after buying it. As you all know Jay is now passing the remains of the Z4 on to me. I will look at it and see if there is something that can be done to make it a contender. If I am able to make a new plate for it and have it preform as good as most blocks out there, I want to send it back to you as a token of thanks. You did not have to send it to Jay. I know it was hard earned money that you put down for it. So thanks, and I will try my best to get you something you can be proud of owning. |
Hey no problem, Fixittt. I was angry when I opened up the box and saw what I'd bought. I'm glad my money didn't go to waste, thanks to jaydee and you. I'm happy that solid testing and analysis was done on the block so that other people don't waste good money on it. Please keep it. I'm very happy with the blocks that I have.
Of course, let me know when your next-generation block is ready:) --Rob |
Ok I will let you know.
Then I think taking the re done block and having a give away would be well suited. Do you agree Schoolie? Its your call. |

Sounds good, Fixittt.
Jaydee, no worries about the shipping. My company pays me good money so that I can read these forums all day....Wait, that's not what they pay me for...better go, now:) |
nahh, send it back to och and tell them you fixed it, and that they should look at how it performs, then open it up to see what you did

what im doing is getting a ehiem pump maz2 and some water wetter ruffly 100$ making my rez for 3$ getting a 1977 chevette heatercore for 25$ and getting tubing and everything else from lowes for 20$ at most |
not sure about the pelt, im am new to watercooling in the first place... ill have to try it some day though. your way sounds a bit more reasonable... saves atleast a buck or two.. :)
|
the maze2 is definately worth the money, but I'm still semi skeptical about eheims being worth so much (although DDen have the best price on them)
|
how quiet are they?
|
|
they are virtually silent, you'd never hear one above your psu fan
|
sweet, thnkx guys.

Well I have the z4 now, and I must say, it is alot thinner then I had thoguht. I cannot beleive they even put 1/2 hose barbs on this thing.
Talk aobut a real turn off, while the machine work is very nice, I can not see the size of this thing being any good. I will bust it apart, Jaydee was kind enought to epoxy it back together before he sent it to me, I am gonna totally redo the copper base. Prolly make it alot thicker, and see if I cannot come up with a better mounting system then this shitty adapter. |
Sounds like you're going to turn it into a Spir@l with an aluminum top:)
|
thats what I'm thinking, it is going to be nothing like the original product
|
Im even thinking about milling off the CPUFX INC engraving on the top left corner of the top and engraving summin else there. :)
|
'Piece of ****ing crap, by cpufx'
|
i wonder if cpufx is reading this thread... hehe.
|
I was thinking about doing a really rought design in it based on Jaydees first block, center outlet one turn across the borrom and out. Instead of milling the channel, I want to take a 1/4 in end mill in plunge it like a drill bit, but stagger the plunges, so you are left with alot of small sharp edges. I also want to do this with a ball nose endmil, (has a ball on the end almost like a drill bit, so that the bottom of the channel will be un even. I thought of doing this will a drill bit, but the problem with that is drill bits flex way to much, and if I drilled to close to an existing hole, the drill bit will walk over to it and break. So I will have to use an endmill, as they dont flex.

It's fixitt slogan time:
"Made by CPUFX, perfected by FIXITTT." Then you can call it the the Spir@l4, or the S4 (eww, savage), or how about the @4. Hmm, so many choices. |
LOL sun, your having just way to much fun with that!
And to top it all off with, I am gonna make the base out of aluminum, and I think I can prolly get it to preform better then the copper base. HEHEHE madness in the air, can U smell it? |
Just got done milling the new aluminum bottom to the old z4.
I have also renames it it is now the FIX X4 (I milled off the cpufx inc on the top corner and stamped it witht he new name. going to download my digital cam software (whiped xp home off and installed xp pro) ill have pics up soon. Boy talk about a turbulant water passage. |
ok, now for the pics Well, what do you think?
I am pretty pleased seeing as it only took a few hours, and 2 carbide endmills (they dont like to plundge very fact) http://www.borderbuyer.com/fixittt/blocks/x41.jpg http://www.borderbuyer.com/fixittt/blocks/x42.jpg http://www.borderbuyer.com/fixittt/blocks/x43.jpg |
