What you need to do is, after filling that form out and getting your e-mail with your user handle, you need to click on the "High-Flyers" button at the top of the page.
Login there with your handle and the password you chose, and you will be taken to your personal stats page.
At the top of the personal stats page is your profile. Here you can change your username and Organization, and most importantly, select ProCooling from the "Current Team" drop-down list".
Then click the "save changes" button.

If you don't do this, your work will not count towards the ProCooling team. Simply entering ProCooling as your Organization will not do the trick.

Lets get fired back up eh? Stats are reset and we are not to far off of [H]'s pace.

Joe 06-27-2003 11:17 AM

and will prolly install it on the new ProCooling server to let it run for a while :)

Unknown really. There isn't any consistancy with this new client. Yestersday I pulled off over 100,000 and today it looks like more around 50,000 the way it's going now. Just depends on what the client needs to finish each step.

Here is the FAQ about the new client: http://www.distributedfolding.org/phaseiifaq.html

Cova 06-27-2003 03:13 PM

Well, I got my new system at home up and running (XP2500+ not yet OCd), my work workstation up and running (P3-866 - upgrading in a few weeks to P4 2.4C), and while I wait for it to be put into production I dropped it on a new HP ProLiant DL360 I just setup (Dual 3.06). My daily scores tend to fluctuate a lot (as I setup systems at work and move the client onto/off of them before they go into production), but I do what I can.

Phant0m51 06-27-2003 05:02 PM

Do you guys think this will run faster in Linux? I'm currently using Win XP Pro. I have Gentoo Linux dual-booted on this system, and was wondering if I should boot into Linux and do it that way?

From what I hear Windows is faster, but that was the original client.

OK,

I tried some months ago to set this up, didn't ever figure it out.

I have it downloading onto a desktop file right now. I see they have change things, so I'm going to try this again.

Last time everyone said my system was fast enough to handle it no problem. Will this still work?

XP1600 stock
256mg PC2100
20gig hard drive

yep, same cheap system as before.

Yep, in fact I have near identical specs on one of my crunchers.

Blackeagle 06-27-2003 09:24 PM

So I signed up at the site & I think I have it installed right. :)

Now how do I check to make sure?

Blackeagle 06-27-2003 09:28 PM

Also I recall in the old folding program it wasn't enough to indicate Procooling as my org. to have it give credit to the PC team.

How do I need to proceed with this version to do that?

Go HERE and sign in using your handle and password from the last time. Once signed in you can change teams and what not from the drop down menus.

Or you can re-signup and select ProCooling from the drop down menu when signing up.

Jaydee116,

Thanks for the help! It's all done and straight, PC now has 62 members.

Went pretty smooth this time, don't know what I did wrong last time.

Glad it is working! Welcome aboard! :)

We're pulling on the [H]OCP guys. We were 45, now we're 41. They only have 600,000 or so more than we do. COME ON TEAM, WE CAN WIN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS!!! Oh wait, I mean the Distributed Folding thing, not the Special Olympics... Heh

Thats some weird stuff there santanicoo. I just put the distributed folding file on my desktop, open it, and click on the foldtrajlite icon. Never seen anything like that before.

satanicoo 06-28-2003 01:06 PM

well, it is working on my XP1700++ @ 2180 mhz.

If someone can figure it out, ill add my p4 2.4 @ 3.2 ;)

Looks like it was trying to run the benchmark instead of the actual client? Try completely uninstalling it and redownload it?

Phant0m51 06-28-2003 09:21 PM

We're still gaining on the [H]OCP guys. We're only 5.8 million away now. We can do this, I'm going to be adding an XP 1800+ to our group in a few hours. Hopefully it'll help a little bit.

Correction, we are 580,000 away, not 5.8mill. ;)

I just added a XP1600@1600mhz. Brought back a Abit KT7A and a power supply from the dead so I am not to sure how long they will last, but it is crunching away....

Blackeagle 06-29-2003 10:26 AM

I have a couple questions I hope someone can help with.

I downloaded the program 2 days ago, still shows my system not contributing anything. What's up with that? I have had the system on and connected almost the whole time, 70% of which it should have been doing nothing else.

Glad to see ProCooling doing well, team is now #40. 523,000 behind [H] who are now #35.

Is there a list showing ALL teams and their standings, or do you have to look them up individually?

Thanks for any info in advance.

Is the cleint actually working? In other words is there a load on the CPU? If it is are you connected to net all the time? If you selected "do not connect to the internet" then it will not connect without you manually uploading.

You can also load up DF GUI and see the progress being done. http://gilchrist.ca/jeff/dfGUI/

And here is the All teams page stats: http://stats.zerothelement.com/cgi-b...ender-teams.pl

Blackeagle 06-29-2003 11:44 AM

Nope, it's not working,

Only thing I configured differant from default settings was the RAM use, I changed that to the 150mg. setting.

I'm going to dump it and start over.

Blackeagle 06-29-2003 11:53 AM

Jaydee,

Is this why so many of ProCoolings team members don't show any stats??

Only 18 of 60+ are shown as active members!

Have to go now, but leaving system redownloading the program.

Put the distributed folding folder from the zip on your desktop, open it and just click on the foldit icon. After that it will go through the setup steps and then ask you to hit enter. After hitting enter you need to CLOSE the program and then restart it using the foldit icon. Should start right up.

No, that is because the stats reset with Phase 2. The inactive members are simply not crunching anymore.

Phant0m51 06-29-2003 01:02 PM

If you edit the Foldit.bat, look at the line that says:

Quote:

.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native
make it look like this:
Quote:

.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native -rt -qt
I have 1 computer that says it like this though:
Quote:

.\foldtrajlite -f protein -n native -rt -qt -it
So go ahead and try either one of those.

*CAUTION* the -qt makes it go into 'quiet' mode. Which shows nothing on screen. There's the window and a flashing cursor, that's OK. The colorful symbols and such can take up to as much as 20% of your processing power. Keep it in quiet mode for best performance.

*SIDE NOTE* We're only 500,000 away from [H]OCP now. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!

Blackeagle 06-29-2003 02:54 PM

OK guys here's where I'm at for the moment. I downloaded the screen saver version, and it is working.

As I understand it though it only will run if my system is idle, correct?
