Hey guys.. I'll be writting up some phase change articles on www.geeksonline.org
EDIT: Nevermind geeksonline.. I forgot they mergered with http://www.cyphersshack.com/ So I will be writting for Cyphers Shack... It's a small site just starting up and I know one of the makers of the site. I agreed to do some articles on pelts and phase change shiet. I'll probably do them in a week or two.. Depending on how my system comes along. Which.. Btw I will be testing it out today.. :) I am just putting some final silicon on my resevior/evaporator unit.. I am using a resevior from the Gemini line up.. It is the black thing with all of the copper tubes in it.. So the resevior has a bunch of holes in it.. So I had to cover those holes so water didn't leak out.. anyway I'll take pics of everything then. Right now I am testing my condensor for leaks and to make sure my solder job was good.. I have it in a vacuum.. And so far so good.. But things will change once there is a 140PSI in it :) I will take some pics of the entire thing.. I have no place to upload them though and I can't upload them to this site cuz they would be to big in dimension. |
Well since the danner 12 didn't work I decided to go with the acetone solution and the danner 7. So I guess I'll be the first to test this out.
Btw if one of ya'll decides to use acetone and you also have foam insulation be really careful when you pour it. I managed to get a drop on the outside of my ice chest and it dissolved a much bigger hole than you would expect (about the size of a silver & 1/2" deep). That's if your ice chest is made of polystyrene (which most are), also the spray foam gets affected some also, not nearly as much though just kinda makes it mushy feeling. Anyhow It'll be interesting to see what my temperature is once I get everything else put back together. |
I am having NO success using this unit as a water chiller.. the compressor is to weak.. I am going to try it as an air conditioner though :)
I have a few thoughts in mind.. Sunday is our garbage night and I am going to go out and look for a good window AC or a dehumidifer.. yank the compressor out of that.. looking for 1/8HP to 1/3HP.. don't want to use no moer then 230w.. Since I can fill an R-22 system with 134a .. with out a problem.. That is what I will do. If that works good.. I might use R290.. which is propane.. which performs even better.. I'd do like a 45/55 mixture of 134a and propane.. anyway.. ta-ta |
