You need to find a multi meter that will work with a TC. Usually the multi meter will come with the TC and the connectors and a dial position that says "C" or "temp". I was amazed to find one at Wall Mart for $17 with a TC. Most cheap multi meters do not have TC support.
Here is another example: http://www.techbuys.net/tm-108.html
Both of mine only have a 1C resolution though which means it round the numbers to the nearest whole number. In other words 4.51 will be rounded up to 5. or 4.5 will be rounded down to 4. Would be nice to have one that read 4.25 ect...

Features:
• User selective resolution 0.18/1.08
• Accuracy:
±(0.3% +18C) -50 - 1000 8C
±(0.5% +18C) 1000 - 1300 8C
±(0.3% +48C) -58 - 2000 8F
• 200 hours life from a set of
carbon zinc
batteries
• Dimensions: 192x91x52.5 mm
A pair of truly superb meters used to give completely flexible measurement of ambient temperatures in 8C or 8F. They are built in a rugged case and come complete with a protective holster. They are highly accurate (< ±0.3% accuracy) using a K type thermocouple (supplied). Both meters have a 1999 count backlit display for use and bad lighting conditions and are able to take readings on a MAX and DATA HOLD basis. Both units are identical except for the fact that the 501 thermometer has a dual input function from two thermocouples.
They are dear enough tho the 500 one is Str£40/€56 and the 501 (dual inputs is ) Str£50/€70.
As i don't know a lot about this stuff is that what i am looking for.
Also am I being screwed on the price.

Specs sound better than mine. I like the duel input one. You can monitor water and CPU temp with one unit at the same time. I am not sure what those prices equel in US dollars though. You really do not need an expensive one as the best your going to get is relative temps anyway. As long as it reads good linarily then it will be fine.

I might try for something cheaper so as €70 is $80 . Things are dearer over here tho than America.
The whole dual input was swinging me towards it but it is very dear.
