That link is for a maze2 with a P4 mounting kit. Maze2 is an excellent block. The performance of the maze3 is still unknown.

I bought it before the 500gph pumps were standard, I have a 145 one :( but that does slow down the water, giving more time for the heat to be disipated.

Well then it might not be a bad idea to upgrade the pump also if you're going to push that system. If the res. is in the case then your flow with that kind of a pump should be around 50-80gph. That's not counting the restriction of the block. If your res. is outside the case, flow could be even lower than that. Your rad. needs conduction/time/airflow to dissipate the heat, but the block needs a consistent flow of water with the greatest temp. difference (Delta) to transfer heat most effectively. Hence, a higher volume pump. Thirdly, the water must stay in the block momentarily for surface tension to be overcome and effective heat transfer to occur. Hence, a high volume/ extensively channeled block is optimal. The Maze2 and Z4 use this method. Alternately, Surface tension can be overcome through the use of turbulence coupled with high volume; in this environment we should also see effective heat transfer. This is the technique the Maze3 will employ, and the results will be interesting to see. This is practical watercooling in a nutshell, the most effective strait H20cooled systems employ these methods.

I got a question, is it a bad thing to use 3 4 pass radiators in one closed system using 300 gph pump?

Brad 04-08-2002 03:28 AM

in parallel, no. in series, yeah it will drop your flow heaps

wirex, use your z4 to cool a 286

I am deciding to chop off the top edges, and use it for a northbridge cooler. but I am worried that the 1/4'' heatsink will do better.

can't you just return it?

Brad 04-09-2002 02:19 AM

wow, so all their 6 seperate customers have differant blocks?

If you want to sell it, i could probably take it off your hands.

do we really want to be in the know? :P

Uf that was some long read from the begining and I'm on dialup :)
Can't believe the ignorance of some folk, glad I'm doing my wc stuff.
Btw Jay and Fix I'll soon be out with my new desing, but after reading this I'm not sure to post it here CpuFX might steal it :D
And I'll try to make xp thermal diode reader on my epox 8kha+ so that we can all get basicaly the same temperature reading and compare the results. See ya soon

Hello. CPUFX has already changed it again!!!! They now have a star type maze in that thing aswell. https://www.overclockershideout.com/...tegory_Code=WB

Better patent you stuff or who knows who will take it!!!

morphling1 05-04-2002 08:36 PM

Yes I saw that too,and they have the old desing on the same page, I mean WTF. They must realy be following everything on this forum to make changes everytime there's some critisism.
Btw that new desing don't look good to me, flow killer.
The only way to make wb that that guys won't copy is to make it complicated. They make pretty easy desings that you can basicaly make in one tool path, just for mass cheap production and then to rip people off.

lets see if they listen to this:

close up shop and **** off
