My new block
|
Aw. Anyone know of a host that works here?
<edit> It's working. |
the forum is down...IS DOWN :)
Image Station... |
Looks great! Very even distribution of holes and pins...And the finish too!
|
Thanks Puzzdre.
mfpmax. Thanks for the info, but that didn't work either. It must be something I'm doing. I'll try to get it resolved. theforumisdown.com worked at O/C so I must be missing something. So for now just click the link to webshots. |
I've got friends that get it to work with Imagestation....
But I can personally see the images by loading them elsewhere and hitting reload...TheForumIsdown don't do that... Shiney btw. |
Ok got it working:D It was just a code issue. Thanks mfpmax;)

looking into making something alike. would u care showing us the benchpress u made the blox with?
awesome |
What are you using to seal it?
|
|
hmm, i was looking into buying almost xactly the same bench press. was woried about the clamping always needing to be redone after every hole. now this is the first time i hear of xy vise, if such a vise would exist, that would make this whole project makable in a fraction of the time.
sry to keep spam/bothering ya, but care to post a pic of the vise used? thx alot already tho |
This is the vise I use, but it's a bit sloppy. A good X,Y table would be better to use, but there quite a bit more costly.

As for the XY table (compund sliding table) they can be found at any machine supply place. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47838 |
now that is some funky shit. i wonder if some cheapo bench press will be able to carry that 30 lbs thos

I have to get some Copper. I can make one of these blocks in minutes with the mill. With the success Rotor has with his blocks i need to try one. Another project on the board...:D
|
SUCCESS!!!
Ambient: 23°c System: 27°c CPU idle: 30°c CPU full load running toast: 35°c Well I'm happy with this one so far. I'll be keeping an eye out for leaks for a few days though as this is the first time I've used the goop bolt down system. Oh yeah. Current water temp is 27.5°c |
Congrat's! Nice temps you got there! How long it took you to make the block?
|
Looking good!
|
Thanks alot guys:D Total build time was approx. 5 hours.
|
damn that looks like a #rotor block on the inside! great work

Would you think that this would work as well if you only had 2 barbs on it on opposite sides? I am thinking of building a block but I would like to only have two barbs.
|
Well my first attempt was a two barb setup and didn't perform very well. It was probably due to base thickness though. My first block had a 1/8" base compared to my new one which uses a 1/16" base.

Yes like jaydee said you can use Y fitting on the return like this:
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...0/fd0edb18.jpg It's a close up shot and may be hard to see, but you can see the two hoses going to the Y (those are 3/8" hose streched over a 1/2" Y going to 1/2" hose and back to res). |
