I've got friends that get it to work with Imagestation....

But I can personally see the images by loading them elsewhere and hitting reload...TheForumIsdown don't do that...

hmm, i was looking into buying almost xactly the same bench press. was woried about the clamping always needing to be redone after every hole. now this is the first time i hear of xy vise, if such a vise would exist, that would make this whole project makable in a fraction of the time.

This is the vise I use, but it's a bit sloppy. A good X,Y table would be better to use, but there quite a bit more costly.

Yeah thats just an example link, hell my whole CNC mill only ways 35lbs!!! I seen much lighter version eslwhere.

Yeah I feel weight is an issue too. I take the vise off the press table when not in use because that vise is heavy. I also have a cheapo press I bought off Ebay for $16, but the table is only 6" and would not suport the size of the vise. This vise is overkill in size for what I use it for. You could go with the cheap press and a smaller X,Y vise and should be good to go. The copper isn't as hard on the press as you might think as long as you keep the bits oiled during cutting so the a cheapo press would work just fine.

I have to get some Copper. I can make one of these blocks in minutes with the mill. With the success Rotor has with his blocks i need to try one. Another project on the board...:D

Hey thanks Brad. #Rotors work was the inspiration for the design. With a drillpress and copper a person can make a pretty efficient block.

Would you think that this would work as well if you only had 2 barbs on it on opposite sides? I am thinking of building a block but I would like to only have two barbs.

Well my first attempt was a two barb setup and didn't perform very well. It was probably due to base thickness though. My first block had a 1/8" base compared to my new one which uses a 1/16" base.

There are ways to have duel outlet with only one barb for the outlet and one for an inlet. Takes some work, thinking, and more work but it can be done, basically just channeling the watter through the top peice into one barb. OR you can have the 3 barbs and divert the duel outlets into one with a subblock of somekind before it goes back the res or pump. Kinda like a T or Y adaptor but made out of whatever material used for the WB. Or you can just use a Y adapter but those can be tricky as they usually only come in one size alaround so if you have smaller outlets it is hard to make the hose fit over the Y. Not impossible as I have done it but not easy. Any way there are options. But a good center inlet block with only one outlet can perfom well to.
