Being creative...And work my ass off...
So, its another new block from me, actually 3 but they are all the same. Did a clip too, but with a horrible finnish, I will fix that later:

WOOOT! Man you do some beautiful things! I love the clip, reminds me of 'Space invaders' some 20 yrs ago...:p
|
lol, don't you have it when that happens? lol
nice work though! (what size of millbit is that?> may I also recommend some 2 flute mills? they don't clog as easy... |
Nice work:drool: and the broken end mill... OUCH :(
|
Nice work :)

nice work...
do designs like this perform well compared to jet on die area blox? |
|
Fecking nice Chrion.
How deep passes are you taking? How long have you been playing with the mill now? My dad just got a full set of beatufil number and letter drills. I broke one :(. It will probably be salvagable. Damn you cloggy copper!!! |
0.33mm/pass
i've been playing for some weeks now, sadly I only have the time on weekends :( but it is fun! :D |
Are you going to solder them all or use screws to mount the lid on some?
|
I really like that hold-down! Sweet!

Are you planning on trying a center inlet version with two outlets (as might be suggested by the hole in the center of the hold down)?

1mm passes are like a hot knife through butter. |
I can't wait to see that all polished up :D
.. you are gonna polish it, right? ;) |

GAH!
This block didn't perform as good as I wanted. Only a couple of degrees C better than a Maze2... Guess I got crappy coppar...or the fact that I didn't go for the inlet over the core. |

Heatsink are big cause they are slower to get the heat away. You want the heat out of the metal as quick as possible, therefore a die inlet is best. See Cathars block for the current best WB design, and you can make something not too dissimlar. (Including G design etc.) |
I was doing .09inch passes on my mini mill today with 3/16inch ball end mill.
-edit- can do more than that, but its faster to do less, |
so you can just fly througg 1 tenth? how fast about?
|
pretty nice, but kinda slow, .05inches seems best for speed to depth ratio
