MY Shifter Kart does 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds, and it didn't cost a mill.

if you're gona for perfomance you need to get rid of those perfomance robbing things like AC, stereo, roof, doors, trunk, hood, etc and get one of these.

strap a seat, handle bars, a transmitions, a gas tank, and some tires onto a 8.3 liter V10.

0-60 mph: 2.5 seconds (est.)
Top Speed: 300+ mph (est.)

Just don't try to take a turn on that thing.

scary thing is they are considering building like a 150 of those to sell.

My honda hornet 600 does 0-62 in 2.8 sec and was cheap too ;)

Shiltz, thats a Chrysler prototype i think, it was build with the Dodge Viper engine, i think it is a V8 not V10.

BTW, quite eavy bike, weigthing 700 kg :confused:

the veyron has 4 turbos in that W16, i wonder how many HPs would you get if you put some turbos on a McLaren F1 LM.

The real top speed is about 120mph because after that it gets so unstable you can't ride it. They've tried to do it but they can't. That is the exact reason it didn't even go into limited production. It's unridable.

It's a Dodge Tomahawk btw, so technically it is a Chrysler concept.

It will never get made. Save up for a 800hp+ Koenigsegg. It's actually going into production (they already have a ~600hp version out) and top speed is estimated at 240mph (last top speed run got rained out and peaked at 224mph).

I saw this car in person ( I touched it) The one I saw was Navy and drak-blue
It is displayed in the VW cnter in Berlin
This car is as wide as a bus and no higher than my navel ( im 6.2 ) !!
It DOES have a 16 cilynder. However It looked like it was a V engine.
YOu cant really tell from the posted pics but the engine is exposed between those massive silver intakes and it looks like a V engine to me... PLus the plaque detailing the car's specs read V16 1001 hp...
Bugatti is a partner brand of VW just like Bentley so the W seems logical, although the VW Phaeton is the only car I know that currently boasts a W engine. Maybe there is a more recent model than the one I saw this summer.
I talked to the selesperson at the Bugatti desk...he doesnt get much action...it sells for 2,000,000+ Euro !!
i asked him to fire up the engine but he sayd he couldnt (damn)

It won't ever come out if they can't solve the aerodynamics. Currently it is just not stable enough at 220mph+ There are also some issues with the transmission. VW said it's getting delivered next year but that's what they said last year too.

Hmm, any run of the mill porsche 911 is stable at 220 with stock aerodynamics... if the engine is souped enough to get it moving that fast :D

Yeah, i had been reading about this monster in Automotive Engineering magazine for about two years now. still have the picture of the engine. with that much power, the traction control system must be working overtime to keep people alive. although it's an ugly, overpriced car, i still applaud someone for trying it. that one upmanship is what makes ridiculously fast cars for everyone. cosider muscle cars in the 60's-70's and perhaps a few japanese cars today.

Its hasnt even got out and you're already burrying it!

ok ok sorry, didn't mean to sound so negative. i just think that the styling could have been better. but, would i drive one.... in a heart beat.

I'm with everyone that gives Koenigsegg props. Truly unreal car.

You also gota give the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo props. A true super car that makes 750 bhp. Proved itself by winning 24 hours of Le Mans last year (It's naturally aspirated predecessor took 1st, 2nd the first time it ran two years ago).

I've been reading about the Veryon for some time now. It IS a W-16 engine. It uses the same engine as Audi's R8 race car, which BTW, is a precursor to Audi's upcoming super car (possibly with the same name).

Think of how much power that sucker wastes. When you take cooling and exhaust waste into account, the thing is probably making closer to 2500 bhp. Sick. Horrendous aero job, though. What were they thinking...?

VW Engineers: "Here's the deal. We are going to take all the great work we've done on the W-8 engine and blow the sucker into a W-16."
VW CEO: "Good"
VW Engineers: "Then we are going to put four high efficiency turbos on it."
VW CEO: "Excellent"
VW Engineers: "Finally, we'll do the worst aero job ever and tell those asses over at Lotus that they can take all their designs and shove em. To top it off, we'll have the car only in a two tone color combination... gangster-rapper style."
VW CEO: "Make it."
