Quietest Fans

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on which fans they consider to be the quietest.. I'm looking into an Antec SX1030 case with an AMD 1400MHz.. I know it'll be hot, so I intend to fill 'er up with some fans... I just dont feel like creating an airport in my house.

Any suggestions?

Panflo fans are pretty quiet. Best bet is to get fans rated at quite a high CFM and use a rheobus to tame them. At least you have the extra CFM should things heat up.

just get a good strong fan and run it off of 7v

get the low end Panaflo's they put out enough air wihtout haveing to lower the voltage. I made the mistake of ordering two high and two low end panaflo's and when I cut the voltage on the high end ones they don't put out near the amount of air the low end ones do. and are just as loud. I orderd two more low end 120's and I'm going to scrap the high end 120's.

Just my 2 cents,

The Panaflos are hard to come by in Sweden but Papst can generally be found here. If you follow the link to the page with listed fans and their cfm ratio you'll see that Papst fans rate very high. I have never seen such good design on the fan blades anywhere and this is what contributes to their low noise.
They are available with both ball and sleeve bearing (more cfm's usually mean ball bearing). I've used their low noise 80, 92 and 120 mm fans and find them unbeatable.

Of course the 7V trick might do it for you but you still won't beat the cfm/noise ratio of the Papst fans.

The panaflo L1As are more or less the quietest fans. At 120mm, the JMC fans are quieter. At 60mm, the Sany Denki fans are quieter.
