i see ... thanks :)
so its not that critical .. any idea on places that sells them cheaper ? i saw once one that was sold for 60$ brand new on ebay .. 200$ sounds way too much |
Be aware that some letters denote high flow models, and some are high pressure. The high pressure ones are the ones we want, and I think are the RZ models. Might want to check it out further though.

I bought a MD-30RZ-N07 off of Ebay used for $65.00. Look for the Ebay user "Grievan" he apparantly puts them for sale frequently. I'm not exactly sure what the N07 stands for, but I'm assuming that it is the power cable. IT was not a standard power cable. Had a proprietary 2 pin plug on it. I just cut the end off and hooked up the White and Black leads to a relay anyway. Now my pc turns the relay on supplying power to the pump only when the pc is on. Mine has 5/8" barbs on it for input and output connections.
yeah the RZ is the high head models ..
and nop couldnt find any use named Grievan :\ yeah for 65$ i dont care if its used or not , i can even buy 2 just incase it brake down :D |
Sorry dude, my bad. It's greivan. list of items for sale

Man I went to the iwaki site and all those pumps look like they could blow the seals on my heatercore!!!
might be alexwai , but shipping will cost dubble :)
I bought the same pump bobonit. I too think the n07 spec is just the power cord. How loud is your pump? Mine is being especially loud, and I think it's just because I don't have any restriction in the loop yet. Just want to make sure I'm right about that though.
Moony, I have only tested mine in an unrestricted loop, and yes, Loud. I have read that it will quiet down when the water blocks are in place. Fingers crossed :)

What sort of whacky power lead has black and white wiring?
In USA typical House Wiring is Black = Hot, White = Neutral, Green or Bare = Ground. Why what kind of "whacky" colors do you have in the UK ?
Brown = live, blue = neutral, green/yellow (striped) = earth. Also all appliances must have an earth connection here, unless they use a double-insulated transformer.
Yea, I'm not sure what the requirements for having and earth ground here is. Some small appliances will only have a 2 prong plug, some have 3 (including ground). Since the pump only has the 2 wires, it apparently does not need the ground plug. I've looked in the manual for the MD-30RZ and can't find anything on it requiring a seperate grounding wire. Anybody have any thoughts on that?
You can't use plug without a ground pin here, though not everything has the ground connected. ;p
well .. i think ill just wait for anther bid from ebay .. 200$ for a pump is just too much for me to spend :I

Hmm, is that safe? Neutral can drift quite a bit off actual ground - that's the whole point of having ground.
I'm not sure about that Polarized Plugs comment. Basically, a polarized plug in the usa (one side a little wider than the other) denotes a 15a circuit. A 10a circuit will have both blades of the plug the same size.
How do you know which way up to put a non-polarised plug in?
If both blades of the plug are the same size, you can put it in either way. AC = Alternating Current. It does not flow in one direction such as DC where there is a - and + terminal.
AC doesn't mean live and neutral can be swapped. That'll work for some stuff but not others - expecially anything which has the neutral wired to the case of the appliance.
In AC the neutral is kept at 0V while the live varies from +120V (or 240V) to -120V (or -240V). |
To each his own, but I'd suggest you get the MD20Z instead of the MD30 if noise is any concern to you. And the MD20Z will save you money on what it costs.
