get rid of the crap...!

Everytime I start a new Internet Explorer window the home website is "http://offsearch.cc/index.php?v=4&aff=4793" which is some kind of adaware/spyware site that sticks like glue. Not lavasoft adaware, spybot, some other spyware software or my own diffrent tries has managed to destroy this annoying webpage from being my default website. How the F*** can I get rid of it? any ideas? please help a blonde fool from sweden...

for a similar situation i uninstalled it through the registry. the did the same start up thing for IE. but it also littered my desktop with porn links and ads everytime i started up the comp. i figured the name of the program that was doing that everytime and uninstalled everything in the registry through the search and that finally got rid of it. but everytime something like that happens i usually reformat. i just cant stand knowing remnants of it can still be there.

I will second that. :)
Except for windows update, I have not used IE for over a year. I install Firefox on every machine I work on. Beter yet, use Firefox on Linux. :p

OK, this should kill it. Make sure adaware and spybot have the latest def's. Get CWShredder and spywareblaster. Update them all. Reboot in safemode, turn SYSTEM RESTORE OFF. Run ad aware, spybot and CWShredder til they all come up clean, run them multiple times. Once it is clean, reboot normally and install spywareblaster and update it, then enable all protection. This should cure you. After that, run Hijackthis and post the log here.
