So, where can I buy the Kestrel Pils, Bill? (or I'll trade you a six of honest wisconsin lager for your imported swill. Hell, I might even trade you a six of my swill for your imported swill) Hee, hee, hee.

have to flit over the pond I suspect
I'm w/o any sophistication of the palate, I get by on Corona or Heinekin (Imperial in Costa Rica)
and its worse, I chill the beer in the freezer before drinking

no class, no class

I think what a lot of us dark-beer&ale types don't get is that is that different brews are better at different temperatures.
If you're somewhere where it's hot, then you want liquid that's cold - and lighter brews tend to be better in that temp range.
I spent a few weeks in Fiji - the local beer is very light, but served the way the locals drink it (cold enough to make your teeth hurt - actually had my hand stick to an ultra-cold mug once) it's IMHO pretty good.
I'm a New Englander (where it's usually not 'way hot) and normally prefer darker brews at "cellar" or "fridge" temps (try some of the Wachusett brews if you end up in the area).

a most apt description, had not thought of it that way
