Shopping for Tygon

What is the cheapest price you have found for 1/2" ID Tygon? Is there a specific product number I should be looking for?

Mars 08-18-2004 07:01 PM

I go to www.mcmaster.com
I just bought clearflex 60 from there, and it shipped it to me in 4 days. Got 12 feet of 1/2" id 5/8" od for $4.08. I think Tygon goes for $2.00 a foot.

$4.08 shipped?

psychofunk 08-18-2004 08:50 PM

Anyone bought local? What kind of store did you go to? What the heck is 1/2"ID Tygon used for anyway?

greenman100 08-18-2004 09:07 PM

foodservice and other applications needing chemical resistance

They shipped it to my house but I wasn't home, so they left a Purolator note on my door. I then picked it up at a Puralator site and all I paid was $4.08. Take the package and run. I'll probably get a bill for shipping later on. Who knows.

Live in the third world is not easy. I am searching a good brand of 3/4 ID tubing and nothing. Anybody know where can i buy tygon 3/4 instead of mcmaster ?
The freight is 60,00 U$ (DHL)

Was the part number for the tubing you bought at McMaster, 5233K66? How is the quality?

Can someone post the number of 1/2 3/4 tygon too.

I got the 3/4" OD stuff which was 5233K68. It's pretty nice stuff - of course it's the only tubing I've ever used ;)

For 'Clearflex 60' 1/2"id 5/8"od, 1/16" wall thickness, the part # is 5231K227
The quality is awesome. I'll never go back to vinyl again. Not even if they were giving it away for free.

In my humble opinion, tygon is way over-rated ...

Your need to have silicontubing, those are as kink resistant as tygon and bleed zero to none :)
Most of the time there much cheaper :D and easier to come by :)
Any shop that sells (air)compressortubing has them.

This is the real deal?????????? I mean the two you guys listed are selling for ~.30 a ft, can it really be that cheap or is this just a dream I need to wake up from???

They are talking about the price for CLEARFLEX not TYGON.

Even so that is good enough for me and being that it is 1/16" thick it should handle alot better than this 1/8" Clearflex I have, not to mention at 30 cents a foot....I'll take a hundred please!!!

Techmasta 09-01-2004 09:56 PM

Doesn't 1/16" wall kink easily?

Probably but I am getting some of that swiftech stuff because I want to make the most hardcore bends I can to shave off inchs of hose length. Only problem is I don't trust that swiftech stuff to hold regular vinyl hose from kinking so the thin clearflex is a happy medium for me, especially at .30 a ft.
