HI everyone! Just got my water cooling kits, but having problems installing it to my Pc case. Please Help me out..

1. My case is Thermaltake XaserV Damier V6000A, and i am trying to put a Danger Den Double Heater core in it, and i found out there is totally no place for it to fit any where in the case, i have enermax 600wat psu( double fans). Is there a way to put the heater core in my case?

2. IF i can't fit everything in my case, should i install the and leave the whole water cooling system outside? or change to a heater core instead of double heater core?

3. I have totally no idea how to build an external wc system.. :cry:

Normally you always have place at the bottom (or top) of your case.
Since your case has feet, either of the 2 options should work fine. I prefer the bottom, since that is the cleanest option for me. Much space, to work with & no drives, cables in the way.
What you always need to do when using something double is to make large holes in the case, buth that's always better than building an xternal box ;)

So how i would see it:

--- double fans to suck fresh air trough the heatercore in the case
--- heatercore mounted above the hole
--- bottom of case (standing on his feet so that there's enough clearance) with large hole for the heatercore to suck air trough and dustfilter (cleans easier)


Normally the fact that you have hotter air inside you case doesn't make that much of a difference since that air will be pushed out by the new air being sucked in.
When you mount your rad on the top you won't have this problem, but you'll loose a lot of space.

I tried the bottom, but no matter which way, the motherboard will block the double heater core, and the pci slots, and the top is block by the power supply that is almost half the size of the case in length. What i am thinking right now is either buy a single heater core or just leave the double heater core out side the case. Since i am a 150% noob, this is the only thing i can think of. Can someone help me out?

ok, i decided that i will either put the pump and the resv down at the bottom of my case close together or just put the whole kit outside in a box somewhere. Now is just the problem of setting it up, which i never think is easy...

how about making a bracket for heatercore and hanging it off the back similar to a Radbox from swiftech

Hmmm...
This means you didn't measure the available mount spaces in your case before buying a somewhat-large heater core. DD even gives you the outside dimensions (11" x 6 1/8" x 2" ) so you don't have to guess about how big the tanks are.
If nothing else, it's a good lesson in "measure twice, cut once".
My guess is that you'd have to put this on the bottom - or on the top if you're willing to give up an optical drive bay or two. If this wasn't a viewport case, I'd think about putting it on the inside of the removable (left) panel - and you could put it on the outside of the right side panel, vertically near the front, pulling air into the case.

How about this: mount the heater core on the top of your case, spaced about 1-2 inches from the (intact) case top. put your shrouded fans on top of that.

I kinda get the idea now, but do i just use strong glue to glue the shroud onto the double heater core or screw through into or through it?

You can screw through it if you are careful or you can build brackets around the end tanks and put bolts through those.

You may also find it easier to use narrow zip ties. They ddon't have to go around - just put another one on the far end. The only reson these are better tha screws is that they just feed right through, being narrow and flexible.
You can also go to the auto parts store and buy a kit for fastening an auxiliary fan to your car radiator - which is essentially zip ties with plastic washers.

Finished the shroud n double heater core part, now i have question about the setups, hope u guys can help me out.

1. Pump -> Cpu block -> rad -> resv -> pump

2. Pump -> Rad-> Cpu block -> resv -> pump

3. Hope u guys can help me figure out a better setting.

another thing is where should i clamp the hose clamps ?

It makes very little difference, whichever is easiest would probably be best.

Behind the barb(s) - the side nearest the hose end once it's pushed over the barb.
