Seems fine, but what's your inlet and outlet geometry?

xjoker 08-28-2004 05:21 PM

That is just the bottom plate of copper. I am going to put the inlet and outlet in a piece of lexan for that. I would also like to know where would be the best place to have the inlets. I was going to use one 3/8" ID inlet and 2 1/4" outlet.

I'm not sure how you'd use two outlets on that design.

Otherwise your fins (the blue part?!?) are a bit thick. If they're the grooves, they're too big; they really ought to be about the same size (preferably a bit thicker on the groove side).

The blue are the fins they are .03125 thick and the groves are made with a .125 end mill.

Right... you might want to try to visualize the flow that you'll end up here: you want to avoid spots where the water just "stays there". More simply, you can build it, and see how it turns out ;) . You can always change the top later.

Thats ture i see what u are saying i will try it and see what happens thanks for the help.

I was wondering about this new idea for a water block, the drawing just shows the bottom which is going to be made out of copper. The top which is not shown but where the inlet and outlets are shown just to show where they would go in the lexan.

Your fin-to-groove ratio is still way off, but other than that, it's fine.

What should be the fin to groove ratio be.
