Two pumps. Overkill to me ?

Hi friends, I am trying to finish my new server case. It will replace a second case for the cooling parts. It is a very large case from a IBM power edge server :D
I have a dual loop system :
First loop : A danner mag 5, a fedco heatercore and a cascade cpu block to cool the P4.
Second loop : A Eheim 1250, a nice heatercore, a mcw50 T (80 W peltier), a chipset block(MCW 20P).
http://www.uploadit.org/Marvin/dual.jpg
My question is if only the mag 5 would hold the entire loop, with 2 rads, and the 3 blocks.
My best regards

Yeah, a single Mag 5 would be plenty.

Nice case!

thanks bigben, but the pump would handle the parts, with a good flow ?
2 gpm ?
the case is pretty large, then i can save some money and sell the pump..

the second rad :

Holy crap batman more pics of that monster case that can hold 2 regular cases please

MadHacker 09-02-2004 04:25 PM

what kind of case is that?
edit: never mind this idiot can't read the first sentence in this post.

I havent found specs for the Mag 5. Does anyone have them? Last I checked it was quite a powerful pump.

killernoodle 09-02-2004 06:39 PM

It has the head pressure of the mag 3 (10.5ft) but pushes up to 500gph (I think). So, the flow should looks similar to the mag 3 only flatter and stretching to 500gph.

bigben2k 09-02-2004 06:56 PM

Hum... It might push 2 gpm, but probably a bit less. Only a live test would tell for sure.

The Mag5 has the same max head but a higher max flow, though it isn't any better than a Mag3 for our purposes. This graph should show why that is.

Danner's data does indicate better flow at very high pressures, 9' & 10', but I question its accuracy given the way it dips suddenly and comes back up. The example system is an estimate of Bill's test system given some information he posted in the DDC thread. Even if you had a really low resistance loop it wouldn't make any difference.

Sorry the lack of response. The other pump i have is a EHEIM 1250, that would cool the chipset block(MCW20) and a TEC block (80 W MCW 50 T)
Here is the case.
Please help me coosing the paces :burn: :
That is what i have in mind ;)
the case has 2 sides. This one would fit the HC, the pump, the bayres and the hd cages:
sorry again the paint program :

The other side will fit the mb and the second radiator and possible the other pump... :bday:

two psus at the bottom of the case...(to feed the peltier)
fit nicely

the case is really big.

Any suggestions ?

Is that chassis magnesium?

bigben2k 09-04-2004 07:04 PM

No, it's a coated plastic case. The coating is metallic.

I am planning to paint in black, with two closed watercoonlig loops. Here is the front bezel :
, with 2 at switches(guess) and a small lcd :
Will put 2 leds(hd and system)

i would think in a lcd in the blue circle but i am using a max 3 board, that does not have serial/paralel port, so i have this dead space...

Here is the at - atx backplate conversion and the radiator hole sawed.
