how long will live a barton @ 2 volts ????
assuming proper cooling...
what are your experiences? |
Until you upgrade your CPU.
|
May I ask why you're running it at 2 volts? I think with better cooling you wouldn't have to jack up the voltage quite so much.

6 month? 1 year? more? |
what die temp levels are you talking?
I'd guess easily 2 years. |
I'm with killernoodle on this one. You will upgrade ur cpu long before you kill the cpu. Considering you an overclocker, and you as with the rest of us have an obsession with speed, ull have an a64 in a year or so.

"what die temp levels are you talking?" - here (inside) ambiant varies from 17 (winter) to 35 (summer)... cpu under full load " from 35 to 50 |
I had a Tbred 1700+ running at 2.63 @ 2v for probably a year and a half before I got my mobile 2500+. It still works like its new.

mali, i really wouldnt worry about it. I dont have any exact numbers because they dont exist, but there are lots of ppl running thier cpus as 2 volts (Including me when i get my water cooling) and they arnt having their cpus die right and left. Granted it will shorten the life of the cpu, but so will running it overclocked and the increased heat wil do the same thing.
