Question regarding multiple cores
I recently accquired an old IBM S702 server case that I intend to mod to a water cooling rig. Lots of room, so a question has crossed my mind regarding mulitple cores. I actually have enough room to mount 2 single pass Fedco 2-342 end to end. I would think this would allow me to flow 4 fans at a near silent rate. Since this will be my first water cooling rig, can I expect an appreciable gains over the same setup with just one core?

No. ;)
The difference will be minimal, maybe a couple of degrees at best, that'll depend on the airflow. |

As u said Ben it depends on airflow.. If you double the heatercore space but decrease the airflow by 50% would that not be roughly equivelent? and decreasing airflow decreases noise... I image there are mathimatica equations that will prove this idea wrong on a larger scale.. eventualy there will be a point of dimminishing returns... my 2¢ |
That's right (thanks for the correction).
As for the math formulae, it'll be a cold day in hell before we get our hands on that! ;) |
as for hooking up 2 cores...
I recomend hooking it up in parallel. that way you could maximise your flow. my 2¢ |
