Does anyone sell all aluminum NB and SocketA blocks?
My radiators are all bare aluminum so I want only aluminum in my loop.
All I can find is this: http://www.aquastealth.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=14 |
i doubt it. most US products are all or mostly copper and most of europeain products are all aluminum and have small connections. you could always buy the blocks above and just drill out the conectors for 1/2in size ro what ever you are using
|
even with all alu you still need a corrosion inhibitor
what's the point ? |
If the loop is 100% aluminum what kind of corrosion do you get?

Here is a little interesting tidbit about aluminum in nuclear reactors in contact with the coolant (water). http://www.tpub.com/content/doe/h101...1015v1_120.htm |

Whats the best additive in terms of corrosion inhibition?
|
why not change your radiator to copper?

I wanna use these just for the heck of it :D http://i6.ebayimg.com/03/i/02/67/12/b6_1.JPG |
transmission oil is ~260°F and higher
what's your coolant temp ? but hey, tons of bling bling |
you get that from ebay. i saw that but i didnt want it since it was aluminum

Zalman fever...

Yeah sorry for posting it here, I know this is performance based and my project definitely isnt. But I paid 40$ for two 12" coolers so Im not the crazy 200$ zalman buyer... |

yea, hell if it doesn't work put it in the truck
|
Hey... didn't UnaClocker's block get picked up somewhere?
I didn't mean to put you down James: I think your idea is good, I'd just like to see you tweak it for performance. Ref: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=10458 |

Aluminum can corrode nicely. Not like steel rusting, more like rust steeling. This we call "anodised aluminum". The hard, dense oxide forms very rapidly and protects the metal from further corrosion. It also is a poor thermal conductor. |

I know np, I just know how a lot of people feel about the reserator etc. No way Id pay 200$+ for something that doesnt cool well. I'll definitely tweak it for performance. Its just I saw how cheap I could get em and thought two would look pretty kool on the top of my HTPC. Something that will make people say (WTF is that?) when they walk into my living room. Depending on how temps are I was already planning on ducting a fan over em just like that one in the link you put up. |

Definitely will, planning parts out now.
Looking at either a MCW5000A or a MCW6000. Im skipping the NB block. Its a nforce2 chipset so Im just going to put a passive zalman or something I hackup to cool it. So I'll have that one block, two radiators and either one or two CSP750s. Think I should get one or two of those pumps? |
One is good for a low flow system but if you're going to get two you might as well get something like a DD-D4 instead since it would be simpler to plumb, give greater performance, and be cheaper.
