Serious Pumping

UPS dropped off some new toys for me today.

A Mag7 and 2 Mag9.5 but alas there going to my aquarium.

I was really tempted to order another Mag7 for my PC. I was surprised to see it was in the same housing as my Mag3.

That is weird. Are you sure it's a Mag 7? Maybe they tossed it in the wrong box.

Probably a larger impeller or more RPM. What are you going to use those for?

Techmasta 09-16-2004 09:13 PM

He said they are for his aquarium.

sevisehda,
Do you have any pics of your aquarium set up?

sevisehda 09-17-2004 07:17 AM

Sure... I'll actually show some pics of my new home "Office"

Soon to be 120 gallons of Ocean.

This is my desk, excuse the mess, too many projects that are more important(fun) than cleaning. I am working on a Rad box so I can get rid of the rubermaid bin.

Notice the wire tie-down not doing its job. I have holes drilled every 2ft along the edge of the desk for wire management and 20+ tiedowns to keep the wires hidden.

The Mag7 feels much heavier than the Mag3.

Awesome aquarium. What type of fish do you plan on putting in it?

It happens. :)

I run a Mag 7 on my setup and it is pretty nice. It will get hot enought o be painful on the outside however after prolonged running. Doesnt seem to effect my system temps any though since I am running such a huge Rad.

JWFokker 09-22-2004 05:56 PM

Hmmm...what temperature are you going to keep your aquarium at? Maybe you should submerge your rad in it?

The aquariums kept at 78-82F so its well above what I'd like my coolant to be.

Should someone move this to an "off-topic" area?

sevisehda 09-22-2004 07:24 PM

In my search of aquarium stuff I did find chillers.

They are expensive but would be interesting to use for watercooling.

MaxxxRacer 09-22-2004 07:41 PM

The chillers are phase chagne... Atleast some of them are... So if u were going to do that u might as well just get a Mach2 system.
