Hey. Just wondering if anyone here has participated in the freeipods thing??? The site is legit and you do get a free ipod. Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys here wanted to start a "conga" line. I have seen these on many other forums where basically there is just a list of the people who want to participate in the line. It all starts by one person starting out at the top, and once they get their 5 referrals, the next person moves on to the top. The way you get on the list though is by clicking on the persons referral link and participating in one of the free offers. The person who's link you clicked then tells who has clicked and participated on their link and they get added to the list. Thus the line starts. If their is enough people who participate, it should go pretty fast. Feel free to flame me if you will, but I think this is a good idea and hope to get this started.

Here is proof that it is free:

And Even More Proof

//edit by pH to remove referral link. Even if it's legit I don't want to see a million threads about this here or really have any part of it. If you want to get referrals buy an ad at somethingawful forums or something.

I suggest doing the infone sign up. It's very easy, just sign up and your account is automatically credited as signing up. I just did it and it is totally free, no fee's whatsoever, and you get instant credit to your freeipods account. Let's get this started so the people at ProCooling can all get free ipods!

yeah. kinda sad that these things are catching on.... I saw one for cellphones recently. I think 3000 people had to send in 1 buck before the next person in line got a cell phone (or something like that) and for the low low price of 50 bucks you could move your name up 100 spots in the list. Ridiculous.

these was an article in wired magazine about the www.freeipods.com business model. It isn't really a pyramid scam; its a new twist on viral marketing. It's really not appropriate for clogging up these forums though.

Viral marketing is a matter of subtle placement and human tendency to talk (gossip).

Needing to actively recruit layers of new people is a pyramid scheme (or multi-level marketing, if you're kind). Doesn't imply it's a total scam, but it's still sleazy.
