New reviews at Tomshardware
Here it is in case no one noticed
http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20040920/index.html They test seven rigs in this setup. It seems that the Alphacool Christmas-tree style (pre-NexXxos) cooling rigs are being sold by Tiger Electronics for some reason. The review's methodology isn't exactly A+ either. While they report performance between the contenders in thermal resistance, they do not mention if the CPU was under load, or otherwise, during these tests. Also, the description of their test platform consists of the standard system spec (CPU, mobo, RAM, etc.) and a picture of the setup with some thermal probes in it. That's it. No description of the insturments, no description of the methodology, nothing. I remember when Tom's Hardware was actually about hardware...how the mighty have fallen! |
