Block suitable for a TEC?
Heres a pic of my waterblocks.
One is for just normal cooling (1700+ althlon @ 2.4/~2v), and the other one I am selling. The buyer has asked me if its suitable for cooling a ~230w tec for cpu. http://server5.uploadit.org/files/kb...bn_blocks2.jpg I have a 40mm TEC here from a mini-fridge, which is quite useless (less than 20w). If you look at the above pic and notice the screws accross the width of the block, well the 40mm tec fits between those screws (and so the screw holes at the bottom - the screws dont poke out obviously). Woudl htis be suitable for a 40mm tec? maybe even a 50mm one (the block is acctually exactly 50mm wide) The base thickness is 1.2mm. |
I just read your thread in that other forum you linked to in the classifieds. How on earth did it take 32 hours on a cnc to cut that out? It would only take about 2 hours on my mini mill cnc to cut that thing out. Thats just one thing I saw and I thought was a little crazy. by the sounds of it, luckily you didnt get charged the regular $50/hr a shop charges.
oh, and yeah, it could work with a TEC, but not the greatest as the outter parts wouldn't really be covered. Jon |
