Voyeurmod single 120 heater core vs 77 Bonneville core

Strange happenings....

My w/c system:

Dangerden RBX CPU block
Hydor L35 pump
Typhoon 5-1/4 single bay reservoir
1/2" ID tubing throughout the system

Radiators- EITHER a 77 Bonneville heater core OR a Voyuermod single 120mm sized heater core

I have read how good the 77 Bonneville hc is but....when I worked this into my system instead of the v-mod single 120mm core my system temps jumped nearly 4 C.

Anyone have any ideas? Would putting both heater cores into the loop help do you think? Any suggestions?

The reason is because of the weak fan your using. The v-mod has less air restriction than the HC, so a weaker fan will do better on the v-mod. HC will do better when paired with a strong fan. Something like a 120X38mm delta with a high pressure rating - noisey as hell. I'd would use the v-mod since you already spent the cash. Adding the HC isn't going to do you much good unless you start pelting with a high heat load. Cooling a NB, GPU and CPU, would be just barely reaching the cooling capacity of the v-mod.

Now that makes sense! Most appreciated. I will shelve the '77 hc for now until I wind up to my gpu, chipset, etc watercooling additions and go with the v-mod. Many thanks. It was bugging the heck outta me being unable to figure that one out.

Thank you!
