opinion on this radiator
Hello all,
I was given this radiator for my water cooling setup. It would be used with a Swiftech CPU and GPU block and the MCP650 pump. The radiator is aluminum, will it give me problems? I have a bottle of Engine Ice I was planning on using, or should I stick with just Water Wetter? thanks for your time. http://www.faststi.net:8080/wc/ http://www.engineice.cc/ -john |
What you want is an additive that reduces corrosion, and I don't see anything on that site's page that says that the product does anything about that.
You're really going to need to use somethig that reduces corrosion, since (I assume) you're going to mix metals, i.e. copper and aluminium. |

Seems like you'd pay a premium for what essentially amounts to adding a bit of car anti-freeze though (propylene glycol). |
I know I sound like a broken record here, but try Zerex Racing Coolant at 10% - it's the anti-corrosion package and no glycol.
Search my past postings for why racers don't use glycol - I'm tired of typing it - and most everyone here's probably tired of reading it. Oh - use this with distilled water - not tap - OK? |
it does have 5% glycol, and Bitrex (sp) to make you spit it out

zerex is bleeping nasty. when i was blowing the water out of my sytem. I accidently got some of it in my mouth and god damn is it nasty even when its dilouted. i was spitting that stuff out for hours...

You anser tech support calls? People ask if they need to induce vomiting if they get some glycol in their mouth? :D I have had my fair share of that nasty stuff in my mouth. It isnt bad until you cant get the taste out even after licking a towel and drinking a glass of milk. |
