Zalman's new "RESERATOR"

It seems that Zalman is planning to introduce some new designs and features in the Reserator WC line.
Here's the pics:

UV reactive blocks and UV liquid:

Bill, the UV blocks might be a good idea for improving the looks of the MCW6000.

That looks pretty tacky imo

Is there actually a fan under that grill, its hard to tell... (looks like two hose fittings)

lots of bling there, and it looks like its still uses aluminum.

bigben2k 10-19-2004 10:27 AM

It looks like the water will be flowing within the tube, so that the air can flow within the middle (as well as the outside). That's explain the seal on top.

It should make it much easier to add a fan, for those who want one, which improves the performance dramatically.

Looks like the pump won't be submerged anymore?!?

Might be cool to make a bong (as in cooling not smoking) out of that big thing.

better for smoking, but christ - take a 1/4 lb to load it

What else would they use?

It does look worst than the original IMO. Kinda odd they would go that way. Let's hope the added performance makes up for it. Looks like more usefull fin area if nothing else.

Is it not possible to use copper?

That would make it too expensive.

Exactly. $250 is pocket change compared to what it would cost in copper.

perhaps a centrally mounted fan to (hopefully) reduce fan noise, and still/start to compete with other kits.

Then again... is the base solid with vents to the interior, or is it mounted on four corner pegs?

After a third look: it appears they are pumping into and out of the top end of the monstrosity. perhaps a compartmentalized system forcing the water from the top, down to the bottom and then back up again? Did they upgrade the pump?

I'm lookin' at this thing and I keep asking why. Then I come up with some longshot idea to make it worthwhile and at the same time become convinced that noone would go through all that trouble.

All in all, this thing is pissing me off.

Here's a shot of the base:

Hum... maybe there's an internal compartment that's sectionned off: that'd explain why the water connections are both at the top. Seems like that would be too complicated though...
